SDGS 2030, AND NIGERIA SCORECARD

Development is considered an inalienable right of everyone across the world. In 2015, global leaders agreed that all nations of the world should develop in economic, social and environmental spheres of human endeavors to secure peace and prosperity for the people and protect the planet through partnership and other sound mechanisms.

Sustainable Development Goals is 7 years to end, where are we as a country? Reports show that Nigeria is:
-146 out of 166 position in the attainment of the goals
-scored 54.3%
-among the 20 least countries to achieve in the goals
- have 13 goals in redline
- reached 12 goals in overall.

As part of my commitment to the global agenda, Today 14th September, 2023, I participated in the People's Assembly and Press Conference organise by Nigeria Network of NGOs to appraise the SDGs in Nigeria, and also examine the impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on the Achievement of SDGs in Nigeria.

Distinguished,
🍎Do you know that SDGs is targeted at making life beautiful for you in all ramifications?
🍎Do you know that the government of Nigeria is not doing enough achieve this goal?
🍎Do you know that you too have roles to play if Nigeria is to rank high in the agenda.

To help the government of the day on what and where to work on, we unanimously made some cogent demands to scale the project and bring the country to the frontline of achievement in the goals.

Would you like to add your voice to the demand? You can state it in the comment section, private chat me or visit our website www.wholeplanetinitiative.org. or mail [email protected] or wa.me/2347083020330.

At Whole Planet Initiative, we are open to your input. God bless you.

I'm Adebukola Margaret. I stand with sustainable development.

I love you 🥰

One Day, Two Goals!

Nigeria has come a long way in democratic governance. Sadly, we have little to show for the expensive system. One of the reasons for this shortfall isn't far fetched. We are largely uninformed about our roles, rights and responsibilities as a people in relation to the government and the political office holders. The politicians also bank on people's gullibility to rob them of treasures of generational worth.
No small thanks to COVID-19 that introduced Palliative as a nomenclature for community support programs. Here we are 3 years after still padding lives with palliatives that doesn't last some families a day!

What if we unanimously demand for sustainable infrastructures, industries, security, education, standard health care system, and conducive ecosystem for growth and development?. I'm sure that we'd land in the Nigeria of our dream with a shortest possible time. Japa syndrome that is rifting Nigeria of human capital will disappear.

Summarily, to get Nigeria working is a task that beckons all of us to responsibility. Let us demand for accountability, transparency, dedication, diligence and efficiency from our leaders while we play responsible followership roles. Untill then, we may be feets backwards to development that sustains a people and generation.

Fostering these tasks, I engage a community of people in Ibadan North LG today to enlighten them on the ideals of representative government and their roles as a people. Thereafter, I joined my colleagues in the Civil Society Sector on an Advocacy Visit to the office of the SA to the Governor of Oyo State on Political Matters. We had a fruitful discussion and hopefully, a Nigeria of our dream would spring from the exercise.

I'm Adebukola Margaret. I believe in Nigeria Project that cares for all. Play your part in the development project.

I love you 😘

FEED-A-THON 1

Igi eléso ni èmi
Olórun kò dá mi ní asán
Gbogbo èrò tó n lo, tó n bò
E yà, kí e wá je nínú èsoò mi
Sùgbón èbè kan ni mo bèyín

Basically translated to:

I'm a fruit tree
I'm working the purpose of God
Come ye, everyone
Eat of my fruits
Only a request I beg of you
Manage me well!

I lately pondered how we arrived at this state of hunger, malnutrition and environmental degradation ravaging human population. Could it be a product of our ignorance, negligence, nonchalance or futureless attitudes that is costing us so much at the moment? Come to think of it. Where are the lessons from the tales, stories and lyrics made available to us in our formative years and subsequently?

While reminiscing on the status quo, the lyrics: Igi eléso ni èmi ( I'm a fruit tree) came to mind.

Does that mean we only got the letters and not the lessons? Many of us grew up to this lyrics and fond of it. Even till now, nature, art, economy, society and the environment daily speak aloud to us on the dare need for sustainability in all facets of our endeavors. How much have we heeded these messages?

Today is another opportunity to heed environmental call for climate action and food security concern.

Picture taken at a client's house where we inspected the fruit trees he requested us to plant in his compound.

Daddy Caleb Arogundade, Baba Oye Arogundade among others are taking action to to FEED-A-THON with fruits. My own egbon and leader Rotimi Omotoso has many Green Stars to himself in ecosystem restoration, climate action and food security.

I put it to you! What can you do to stem the ongoing food crisis, environmental degradation and global warming?

I'm open to discussion @ Whole Planet Initiative www.wholeplanetinitiative.org, [email protected] or wa.me/2347083020330.

PLAY YOUR PART

Climate change is fast becoming an 'Household Name' globally. The reason is not far from the transgenerational negative impacts is has on everything that exists on the planet Earth.

Climate Change finds it root cause from CO² emissions from combustion of fossil fuel and other human activities.

Interestingly, the solution to climate change is found in trees and green projects. Trees are sure absorber of CO². A tree is said to absorb up to 25kg of CO² per year.

It'd therefore be prudence of humans to plant trees to stem the effects of climate change and mitigation the menace for coming generations.

What can you do to rescue the planet from the scourge of climate change?

You can emulate our clients from Egbeda, Cele-Ijesha Lagos, Ota Ogun State, Moniya Ibadan and many others who order their fruit seedlings to mitigate climate change and other environmental challenges while securing food security for ages.

What do you stand to benefit.

A tree will:
🫴 Provide buffer against windstorm for your house.
🫴 Prevent flood occurrence as the trees absorbs water
🫴 Nourish you and yours with nutrients and supply you foods.
🫴 Give you fresh air
🫴 Beautify your environment
🫴 ...and many more.

BE THE SOLUTION

Did you buy fruits and vegetables in the last days?

I'd be glad if you can tell us the price of these "necessities" in relation to your income! Remember, healthy living begins with good nutrition.

If you are to maintain a regular purchase of these commodities, is it sustainable in relation to your income?

If you answer is 'Negative', I leave you to imagine what life holds for us in years to come and the coming generations amidst the non stop pollution, deforestation and degradation facing the planet!

Interestingly, human population isn't left clueless and bereaved of solution.

The answer to the trans generational problem of land degradation and food insecurity lies in your conscious effort to plant trees and raise gardens with that little opportunity you have.

This simple act will not just improve food supply to you and yours, but also reverse the degradation and restore our ecosystem.

You can still order your fruit seedlings from Whole Planet Initiative as we are posed to give you health, high yielding and disease resistance seedlings of your choice.

I'm Adebukola Margaret. I challenge you to join hands with us to save the plant.

One of Whole Planet Initiative goal for 2023 is to planting 2000 fruit trees in town and cities across Nigeria. This is geared towards addressing the environmental challenges of the century by purifying the air around homes, absorb carbon monoxide, reduce rain water runoff that precedes flood, stem down destructive wind, and add aesthetics to the environment. Much more, it aims to nourish the present and the future generations with quality fruits and combat the twin problem of hunger and malnutrition.

In the pursuit of this lofty goal, today July 18th, 2023, we planted another 6 fast growing, high yielding, and disease resistance sweet orange and mango trees at Alhaji Busairi house located at Feranjeko area of Olomi Olunde, Ibadan Oyo State Nigeria.
This was possible with the support of our Host, Chief Imam of Olomi, Alhaji Busairi. May God continue to strengthen him to eat of the fruits of his labour. Amen.

Distinguished, Alhaji is playing his part to make the planet Earth liveable in his own capacity. What can you do to impact the planet positively?

You can emulate Alhaji Busairi by placing orders for your fruit trees seedlings and we'd do the planting for you. We have varieties of seedlings; sweet orange, avocado, pineapple, pawpaw, lemon, mango, guava, plantain sucker among others. All at affordable prices.

Whole Planet Initiative is set to green the planet for the good of all across generations.
