Another hybrid event in the books! I love getting to work with HeartWorks and lead their production for their annual virtual dinner. Every year we are in a different location, and this year, we were in Hixton, Wisconsin, at the Superior Fresh Headquarters. Last Thursday, we transformed their test kitchen into a mini-TV studio for a cook-a-long with hundreds of families online in Zoom.
Shoutout to my team: Mary Davidson, Alycia Drube, and Luke Clements
Such a great evening and can't wait to do it again next year!

It's almost that time again for HeartWorks' annual virtual dinner. This is a throwback to last year's event but so excited to help them execute their virtual cook-a-long again this week for the 4th year. Last year, we brought our production set to Charlotte, NC and this year we're in Hixton, WI.
This event is so unique - leveraging both a TV studio setting in-person, with families cooking along at home via Zoom. Can't wait to do again later this week in Hixton!

Loved working with these ladies on the game presentation team at LOVB’s Salt Lake City home matches earlier this month!
I’m associate producing the league’s game presentation and we work with some rockstars on the ground to produce, announce, and entertain fans at the home games 🏐👏

You'll never see me on the mic, unless it's for a mic check before doors open but I love getting to be behind the scenes of some of the world's top sporting events.
I've been a court manager for the @ team for the last few years at the US Open Tennis Championships, cueing athletes and on-screen talent at Grandstand and Louis Armstrong Stadium. Excited to see what we do this year!

On Tuesday, we had our bi-monthly meet-up for the Event Pros Book Club. We discussed "The Perfectionist's Guide to Losing Control: A Path to Peace and Power" by Katherine Morgan Schafler.
We talked about the different types of perfectionism, leaning into the superpower sides of being a perfectionist and learning how to be adaptive, and not maladaptive. This booked was packed with both reflective, almost therapeutic language and reframing that really resonated with our group. I haven't highlighted or made so many notes in a physical book in a long time - I definitely recommend this one to any who identifies as a perfectionist!
Thank you to Therese, Marisa, Marix, Bailee, Nancy, Jennifer, and Jackie for joining!

Can't believe it's been 6 months since the Paris 2024 Olympic Games!
I worked for Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) as a field producer for the Athlete Moment for gymnastics and basketball. Seeing some of the best athletes in the world up close, on the biggest stage was amazing. And I loved the team I got to work with, shoutout to , , and the rest of the AMO team. Can't wait to see what we do next!

Back in November, we had our final book-related meet-up of the year for the Event Pros Book Club. We discussed "Unreasonable Hospitality" by Will Guidara.
We talked about how growth happens outside of our comfort zones, which sounds easier than it is. We discuss the importance of having a great support system, to get you through those tough periods of growth. A quote from the book really resonated with the group: "Do less. But do it well," something that feels easier said than done since events is a service industry.
Thank you to Merix, Noveen, Bailee, Nicole, Maria, Elisabeth, Mary, Terese, Jennifer, Alyica, and Taylor for joining!

It was such an honor last month to be named to the list of voices to pay attention to in the event industry. To be listed amongst the names on this list is such a thrill!
Between and the Better Events Podcast, I love sharing knowledge and swapping war stories so we can all create better events and maybe get a little more sleep! Thank you again for the honor of being on this list and if you haven't already, check it out and give my fellow honorees and friends of the pod a follow:
We have so many exciting sessions in the works for the 2024 Better Events Podcast Conference in December. One workshop I'm particularly excited about this week is our "Growing as the CEO of Your Career" workshop on Wednesday, December 18th for our in-person audience.
Our CEO Day workshop last year with Juliet Tripp was such a popular session, and this year's workshop expands on some of those seeds she planted as well as practical applications of how Mary and I use that CEO Day framework in our businesses. We'll be reflecting on the year, looking back at what we loved, and then shifting into looking ahead at what we want more of in our careers and what we want less of.
If you haven't bought your ticket to join us yet in Tacoma on December 18th or virtually on December 19th, you get your tickets here: https://bettereventspod.com/conference
We also offer group tickets if you'd like to place a bulk order for your company or organization. Just send us an email or reach out to me directly and we can streamline that process for you!

Meet Logan
Hi, I’m Logan
I first fell in love with events as a banquet server at a country club in college. It was the first time I saw the amount of work that went into creating a few memorable hours for the guests. Over the years, I’ve continued to fall in love with the planning process and details that go into making an event happen.
I graduated with a BA in Chinese Language and Literature from the University of Virginia. In 2014, I moved to Shanghai to utilize my Mandarin language skills and explore the international sports market. I started working in social media marketing but quickly realized that I had the most fun at live events and working with people. In October 2016, I founded Logan Strategy Group to create and execute quality events in China, the US, and around the world. I recently moved to Seattle, WA and currently split my time between the US and abroad.
Over the last 6 years, I’ve worked with companies of all sizes, including sports teams, brands, universities, non-profits, and individuals. I’ve been a one-woman show all the way up through working on a team for a large-scale event. In 2019, I was a sports presentation producer for professional volleyball with the FIVB, organized a non-profit gala, served as an assistant for a VIP reception, stage-managed a college basketball tournament, co-organized the annual TEDxSeattleWomen event, and led player transportation for a pro tennis tournament.
Outside of work, I love getting to explore my new home, Seattle, trying new sports, and cheering on my favorite sports team. My current sports obsession is bobsledding. I’ve been training for the past two years to be on the US Bobsled club team. In January 2020, I completed the driving school in Park City, Utah and am continuing to train and make time to get back on the ice.
With over 60 events under my belt, I believe that the different projects help keep my work fresh and fun and there’s always something I can learn for future events.
Interested in working with me on your next event, send me an email me at [email protected]
