It was such an honor last month to be named to the list of voices to pay attention to in the event industry. To be listed amongst the names on this list is such a thrill!
Between and the Better Events Podcast, I love sharing knowledge and swapping war stories so we can all create better events and maybe get a little more sleep! The event pros book club even got a shoutout, which has become one of my favorite community events for event pros, meeting with those amazing planners and vendors every six weeks.
Thank you again for the honor of being on this list and if you haven't already, check it out and give my fellow honorees and friends of the pod a follow:
We have so many exciting sessions in the works for the 2024 Better Events Podcast Conference in December. One workshop I'm particularly excited about this week is our "Growing as the CEO of Your Career" workshop on Wednesday, December 18th for our in-person audience.
Our CEO Day workshop last year with Juliet Tripp was such a popular session, and this year's workshop expands on some of those seeds she planted as well as practical applications of how Mary and I use that CEO Day framework in our businesses. We'll be reflecting on the year, looking back at what we loved, and then shifting into looking ahead at what we want more of in our careers and what we want less of.
If you haven't bought your ticket to join us yet in Tacoma on December 18th or virtually on December 19th, you get your tickets here: https://bettereventspod.com/conference
We also offer group tickets if you'd like to place a bulk order for your company or organization. Just send us an email or reach out to me directly and we can streamline that process for you!
The annual Better Events Conference is brings together event professionals for a day of connection, swapping event stories, and learning along the way.

Last week, I hosted our September Event Pros Book Club meet-up, where we discussed April Dunford's "Sales Pitch: How to Craft a Story to Stand Out and Win."
We talked about sales and what works and what doesn't. Many freelancers struggle with our internal sales pitch and going after new clients. We talked about outreach, reminding past clients that we exist and asking if they know of others who might benefit from our services. One member mentioned that selling is successful when you sell the story and value you provide, but that sales really should be an act of service.
Thank you to Christine,, Nicole, Nichole, Julianne, Elisabeth, Dena Oneal, Rhea, Jillian, and Shanondoah for joining!

Meet Logan
Hi, I’m Logan
I first fell in love with events as a banquet server at a country club in college. It was the first time I saw the amount of work that went into creating a few memorable hours for the guests. Over the years, I’ve continued to fall in love with the planning process and details that go into making an event happen.
I graduated with a BA in Chinese Language and Literature from the University of Virginia. In 2014, I moved to Shanghai to utilize my Mandarin language skills and explore the international sports market. I started working in social media marketing but quickly realized that I had the most fun at live events and working with people. In October 2016, I founded Logan Strategy Group to create and execute quality events in China, the US, and around the world. I recently moved to Seattle, WA and currently split my time between the US and abroad.
Over the last 6 years, I’ve worked with companies of all sizes, including sports teams, brands, universities, non-profits, and individuals. I’ve been a one-woman show all the way up through working on a team for a large-scale event. In 2019, I was a sports presentation producer for professional volleyball with the FIVB, organized a non-profit gala, served as an assistant for a VIP reception, stage-managed a college basketball tournament, co-organized the annual TEDxSeattleWomen event, and led player transportation for a pro tennis tournament.
Outside of work, I love getting to explore my new home, Seattle, trying new sports, and cheering on my favorite sports team. My current sports obsession is bobsledding. I’ve been training for the past two years to be on the US Bobsled club team. In January 2020, I completed the driving school in Park City, Utah and am continuing to train and make time to get back on the ice.
With over 60 events under my belt, I believe that the different projects help keep my work fresh and fun and there’s always something I can learn for future events.
