Why is this event so important?
Role models play a vital role in the lives of individuals within the queer community. For many, especially those who grew up without representation or visibility, having someone to look up to who shares similar experiences and struggles can be life-changing.
They provide a sense of validation, showing that it's possible to live authentically and proudly as a queer person. Role models offer hope, inspiration, and a sense of belonging, helping individuals navigate their identities with confidence and resilience. They also serve as beacons of success and possibility, breaking down barriers and paving the way for future generations.
In a world where acceptance and understanding can sometimes be lacking, seeing someone who has thrived despite adversity can be a source of immense comfort and empowerment. Role models in the queer community offer not just representation, but also guidance, support, and the knowledge that one is never alone in their journey.

Valentine Dance - The Violet Gathering Fundraiser was AMAZING!!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! We deeply appreciate everyone who showed up, donated, performed, vended, volunteered, and worked on this event with us in any way.
WE SURPASSED OUR FUNDING GOAL FOR THE VIOLET GATHERING 2024!!! We can now book a venue and pay for all of the necessary costs of running this festival as well as have PAID security this year for your safety.
There are no words to describe how grateful we are to every single person involved. The bands were perfect, getting everyone on their feet to dance all night, the vendors were amazing, the food was delicious and hot! The workshops and activities were a hit! The atmosphere and all of the beautiful people in their best dressed was amazing to see.
