I just got the call form my brother's Wife Patty that on the 12th my brother Curtis Smith has passed away.
My brother was a photographer and got me into photography back when I was about 7 or 8 years old. I really looked up to him when I was a lad. Yes we had our difference but, he is still my brother.
Back in the 80's, there was a program called "Case Closed" and I contacted them in trying to find my brother. At that time my Mom was going to be having brain surgery and I thought maybe, just maybe this program can find Curtis Smith.

This was one of the best Christmas gifts I could have given my Mom.
Curtis is now with Mom and the rest of the family and I'm sad that he has passed but, I'm happy he is no longer in pain.

So for my big brother, Curt, I will miss you and love you.
You take care of Mom and I will be seeing you all someday.

Have you ever gone into an older cemetery? This one is outside of Oakland, in Piedmont, CA.
The buildings they did for the dearly departed in the days. This is the ones that had the money to do this some dates to the 1800's This is also the resting place for Trader Vick's

I have been in photography for over 45 years. Doing all kinds of photography and people ask me what is my favorite part of being a photographer, I say that I love it all. Weddings are fun getting the moments of the looks of all. Some photographers don’t like doing weddings as I do. I get in the editing process and see everything of the event.
Portraits and headshots are fun too, as an on location photographer, I come to you and can go to parks or even your house to photograph you.
Doing pets and wildlife are fun to do.
Our pets are part of the family and should be in the portraits too.

Out of all the years going to Santa Cruz, I have never seen something like this. It's new game that is here. The name of the game is Bocce Ball. I have never played the game before but looks like it could be fun.
Another thing is a new place for a drink and eat Humble Sea. Very nice area for a new beer or something to eat. Across the way is a place for Dads called Dad's Daycare. I have to get a shot of that and Cheryl said that I should have just brought you here and left you for later, LOL.
It was a nice Day to have Father's Day in Santa Cruz and having it with Cheryl, Susie and her boyfriend John.

What a fun day yesterday photographing a graduation party for this young lady on Saturday.
I can have a fast turn around within 4 days or sooner.
I took over 300 photos of the event. With the fast turn around, they got there photos the today. Less than 24 hours.

Cheryl and I took a walk at the Baylands in Mountain View on Friday and it was a nice day for a walk and seeing so many birds.

October 12th will be the 26th anniversary for John Denver and trying to get people interested in coming to take part of a train ride at Roaring Camp in Felton. I would like to get 25 people or more to come, I can get a group rate and afterwards do over to a restaurant and the drive to the John Denver Beach for a beach cleanup and have a sing along and then have the moment of silence to end the day.
I will do a group photo at the train ride and at the John Denver Beach.
So if you would be coming and let me know and after getting 25 people say that they’re coming, I’ll get the information out to buy your tickets on the ground rate.
So let’s have a good turnout and to remember John and his music.

Coming back from Killeen TX I stoped in Slaton TX where my Uncle Bill lived this building was where he lived and had a pawn store and the things he had in there and I'm talking back in 1978-79 The things I know now if I knew then, WOW!!! Here has some old item that are worth thousands in this time. I could have had in my position a # 1 seller of Marilyn Monroe Pl***oy magazine and not talking about a copy, but the first addition with her in it. He had every book from day one.
The train there was there when I was there and loves the streets made of brick.
Visiting the town so may building were gone to nothing in them, so sad to see. Id did bring back some good and bad memories when I was there.
I did find my Uncle Bill's resting place and of all the places was 130 miles away from where he lived in Slaton TX in Merkel TX. I don't understand why with there was a cemetery just outside of Slaton.
Uncle Bill was in the service and this location was not for Vet's and this place was to be taken care of family members. When I got at the place, I couldn't find his spot and there was 2 people there that was taking card of a family member that had past a few days ago watering the grass to try to get it green and they helped me find it.
The w**ds and grass was almost coving the grave marker and they were appalled seeing that and they had a w**d eater and cut the w**ds and grass off the marker and there was another one next to Uncle Bill's spot and saw another one that had my Uncle's last name was the same.
I had an Uncle Roy and had put a call in to see if he was related to my uncle. I didn't get a call back so I'll have to call back this next week and talk to them again to see.
In the photos below are the folks that cleaned the plots and was very grateful of their service helping me and was not expecting them to clean them for me. They told me there names but to the life of me, I can't remember there names but, I did give them my card and hopping they are following me here and get back to me.
So I'll post more of the photos from my trip.

It's as interesting as I thought I would have seen. The photos don't do Justus by seeing it in person but still the area is very cool to see. It's about 30 minutes out of Barstow but was worth it.
