When I was growing up near the North East Coast, every Spring and Summer holiday would be punctuated by someone's dad 'Getting A Bus Up' and organising a day trip to a coastal town. Regardless of the weather, neighbours and friends boarded said bus with deck chairs, flasks of tea and enough food for a siege (although never enough to satisfy a horde of kids)....

The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists - Robert Trussell 1/21 Published over a hundred years ago in 1914, this book is an eye opening account of the perils of Capitalism. It sets out political ideologies and thev resignation of thise who are affected by them in a matter of fact way, leaving it up to the reader to agree, or otherwise. Frighteningly contemporary, the book sets out how nothing in life is a foregone conclusion and how change can be effected if we want to bring it about.
