We had a wonderful concert in St Matthew's last Sunday and daughter Luciana and I did the flowers. I did the altar and Luciana, beautifully and patiently, did the window sills, all in old pickle jars.

We had the great pleasure of doing flowers for a joyous christening on Sunday. There were 80 people in the congregation to welcome 2 year old Connie into the church community and we will never forget the wonderful sight of her skipping up the aisle with our lovely vicar, Gina, and then running helter-skelter back again. It was such a happy occasion and we were very touched to be invited to join everyone later for a drink in the Hay Barn at Anran! Connie’s father, Shaun, provides music for most of the weddings at St Matthew’s and Anran and yesterday he doubled up as chauffeur to an excited & happy load of children.

The girls have been busy picking to make bouquets for sale in the nursery this morning.
Hop down to the garden and see what you can find to fill a vase yourself before the weekend! Lots of special blooms ready for cutting! And two smiling ladies happy to help await you in the shed today!

No flowers were planned for the altar for yesterday’s wedding but as we hate to see it bare, Sacha did some simple arrangements of white spray carnations and Tellima grandiflora in green bottle vases in a V shape. Luckily the bridal couple liked them!

Here are the flowers we did for a wedding on 22nd April for a couple who asked for green & white only. We enjoy a green & white scheme but then we just love doing flowers at St Matthew's whatever the colours!

Just had a quick trip up to Peamore Florists to collect two wraps of the beautiful Avalanche rose - pure white and simply gorgeous. We're getting ready for Easter and for a wedding this week end - busy time all round. The photo is from a wedding Sally and I did some time ago using Avalanche, soft Ruscus and white Alstroemeria.
