The chaotic blues punk powerhouse that is Mother Vulture bring their blistering sound and energy back to Clwb Ifor Bach next February!

After a sell out show in the downstairs room a couple of years ago, they make a very welcome return in 2025, this time playing upstairs in Clwb's main room, bringing Ghent's Ramkot along with them for the ride.

Heya everyone! Very happy to say we managed to donate £782 to MAP today!!

A massive thanks to everyone who attended these shows through the late end of July and beginning of August, as made clear in our last post it is an unbelievably tough time for bands, promoters and venues at the moment so the fact that we’ve been able to donate this much with those hurdles is honestly heartwarming, thanks for turning up and giving as much as you can 🫶

Thanks to The Moon, Rough Trade and Exchange for their generosity and hospitality in helping with reduced venue hire for these shows, and to the bands for killing it at each show and helping with attendance a long the way by spreading to mates as much as they could! It’s gone a long way to ensuring we can donate as much as we could.

Lastly I want to highlight how important it is to not only continue to donate to MAP, but other causes that are important to you. And if you have a voice, use it. Fight injustice wherever you see it, and that can be in the form of protest, sharing knowledge/resources wherever you can AND/OR donating wherever you can too. Your individual actions go a lot further than you think, you just have to make the move and do it. It’s something I wish I’d learnt and practiced sooner to be honest!

As highlighted in some previous posts, we will be organising a fundraiser very soon, hopefully towards the end of this year, it will likely be going towards a few causes that are important to us so we need to have a sit and plan it all out but hopefully more news on that soon!

After a 5 year hiatus, much loved French emo quartet Sport make a return to music this year, making their way to the UK this October! Delighted that we get to bring them to Clwb Ifor Bach for a stacked Halloween line up, welcoming Sleep Outside and Enabling Behaviour onto the bill as special guests.

Best costume will win something probably idk I haven't figured it out yet !

New Jersey Emo Quartet 'The Early November' make a long awaited return to the UK next January to play what is likely their most popular record 'The Room's Too Cold' in full, stopping off at The Lanes in Bristol on Jan 19th, their first show in the city in over 7 years.

A stacked line up of bands that have become firm favourites of ours over the years in the experimental and post rock genre. Codices, Memory of Elephants and Hexcut are all bands we've had on shows for years, so somewhat of a full circle moment having them all on one bill. We're also delighted to be welcoming new Bristol psych act Surface Air as opener.

Outlander make a very welcome return to Exchange this August, celebrating the release of their album 'Acts of Harm', which they will be playing in full. If you were at Reverie Fest this year you'll have seen them play a blistering and crushing set of ambient based shoegaze in the basement.

We are very glad to be bringing them back, this time for a floor show in the main room. Smothering and Omvros join as special guests, completing a line up of boundary pushing post rock.

Some highlights from Flesh Creep’s headline at Rough Trade last night.

Thanks to everyone for coming out to the show and getting stuck in, we know everyone’s skint and we know we’re in the middle of festival season, so we super appreciate everyone who attends in what is a difficult time for promoters and venues!

We are very glad to say that we’ve raised quite a lot of money for ‘Medical Aid for Palestinians’ so far too, we’ll have the grand total after our next 3 shows (where we will also be donating profits) but thanks to everyone who’s contributed, legends!

90s grunge influenced punk rock quartet Uzumaki stop off at Crofters Rights (Room 2) on Sept 14th in support of their debut album release this year.

Having just supported Movements this month on their UK tour the band are on an upwards trajectory in the alternative rock scene and are definitely one not to miss.

Unfortunately No Violet have had to pull out of this one BUT coming in to save the day we have Last Hyena and Downard, firm favourites in the Blowout camp for years now, largely due to their consistent experimentation and development in their output throughout that time.

Delighted to be announcing the supports for Bicurious' biggest Bristol headline to date on October 19th. An eclectic bill of some of our favourites in current experimental rock courtesy of a-tota-so, Vernon Jane and Essential Formulas.

Tickets have been flying out for this one, and seeing Bicurious' infectious sound grow bigger and bigger with people has been a joy. Sure to be a special one, we can't wait to welcome the lads back, with bands we love on support.

❗️BLOWOUT T-SHIRTS❗️

After 6 years of promoting we’ve finally put out a t-shirt. And a cracking one at that. Endless thanks to .tears for smashing it out on the design, we truly believe it encapsulates the energy we have at a lot of our shows in a very fun way.

All the money made from this will be going straight back into Blowout to help with cash flow. Venue hire costs, deposits, advertising etc etc.

Blowout is a very small operation and are still very much at a grassroots level day to day, with costs sometimes coming out of our own pocket if a show (thankfully rare these days) loses money! So getting one of these goes a little way to helping us out day to day basically

We are forever grateful for all the people who come to our shows, especially in the past couple of years where familiar faces have shown up time and time again.

To see it grow into what it is has been nothing short of amazing and affirming, and we can’t wait to see Blowout continue to grow for years to come!

Next Tuesday! Bringing a fresh spin on the Midwest emo genre, Sweet Pill take influences from hardcore and pop punk to bring a more accessible and engaging sound that’s been missing from the (sometimes too) technical emo and math genre.

This has seen them sell out tours in the U.S., and get support slots with bands as huge as Paramore.

They play their first UK tour this week, having already played a sold out show in Edinburgh, and two sets at Outbreak Fest over the weekend, they visit Cardiff next Tuesday for what is looking to be another sell out show!

We welcome back Other Half to Cardiff this September. Proving to be a formidable act to watch live, with their post-hardcore sound breathing a sense of anxiety and dissonance, whilst adding more subtle indie moments into their sonic scope amidst the intensity, they stop off at The Moon on Sept 18th as part of their 5 date UK headline tour in support of their latest album ‘Dark Ageism’!

This South West Shoegaze quartet have been gigging heavily across Bristol and Cardiff over the past year, displaying their dynamically broad brand of heavy shoegaze reminiscent of bands such as My Bloody Valentine and Slow Crush.

It has seen them support the likes of Graywave, Stay In Nothing and Bible Club. With an already impressive run of shows behind them, this culminates in the release of their debut single 'Anyway', which they'll celebrate the release of at Rough Trade Bristol on Sept 7th.

We welcome Birdfeeder, Enabling Behaviour and Indigo as special guests who complete a night of atmospheric, crushing and ethereal alt rock. A line up of fresh South West bands to definitely keep an eye on. £5adv, get it busy!

Stoked for this one! Uncertainty have been a favourite of ours for the past year, we’ve had them on plenty of shows through 2023 and 2024 and their growth in the short time they’ve been around has been incredible to see.

With influences such as The Rival Mob, Spy and Paint it Black the q***rcore four-piece set up the band to step outside the norm of what is expected in hardcore but still paying homage to the bands who have influenced their sound.

Uncertainty continue to be a fresh and exciting hardcore act to see live, and we can’t wait to celebrate the release of their 2nd EP ‘Creation of a New Normal’ at Crofters Rights on August 11th!
