We have returned from the wilderness to deliver the fifth instalment in our mix series. Getting us back underway is founder and resident Lyndon Lewis. In an hour long mix he weaves through ambient, dub and weirdo techno, with plenty of bass weight to keep your speakers busy.

After a period of pandemic induced radio silence we’re back with a PSA.

We’ve had some tee shirts made which are available for purchase, with the entirety of the profits being split between two charities. The first being 42nd Street which is a young person’s mental health charity in Manchester that offers inclusive, accessible mental health and wellbeing support and opportunities for all young people. At a time where people’s mental health is being stretched thin, we think services such as 42nd Street are more valuable than ever.

The second is Lambda which is a q***r youth centre in Berlin for all LGBTIQ persons between 14-27. The centre hosts regular counselling sessions, workshops, podcasts, and film projects. Whilst diversity is widely accepted in Berlin there are still regular acts of hate and places within the city that are not so welcoming. To have safe havens to retreat to such as Lambda is crucial.

With Manchester being our birthplace and Berlin being our current home it made sense to us to split the profits between a charity from each city.

As to not get ahead of ourselves we have gone for a limited run of 60, 30 white and 30 black, with only medium and large available. We are asking for between £10-£15, however much you feel comfortable paying. Please make your way into our DMs, or contact Lyndon Lewis or Cameron Worsley directly to arrange a purchase. Also, a very big shoutout to Nic Rappo for doing such a sick job with the tees, they really are gorgeous.

Whilst Trip the Light has been on the back burner for the last 18 months, we are hoping to be throwing parties again soon. Our next steps will likely be taken in Berlin but we’ll no doubt be back dancing in Manchester in the not so distant future.

Our ethos

Sharing Kerri Chandler’s belief of needing nothing more than a basement, a red light and a feeling to have a proper party, we’re looking to adopt basic principles of rave culture to create dance-floors that are unified, respectful and whose motives are very much music orientated. Our focus is on bringing no frills dance music of a diverse nature to people who love it just as much as us. We aim to book underground artists, as well as give opportunities to passionate, up-and-coming DJs.
