Left over crab shells? The chickens say “yes please!”
Anytime we have a crab dinner the chickens get crab dinner too!
Blended with water to a paste, the left over meat and shell is a gourmet meal.
I also add fresh oregano and garlic for a medicated herbal boost, and a few pumpkin seeds to help prevent parasites.
Happy healthy chickens lay the best eggs!

These two have my heart. I am so grateful that we were honored to host their union.
The groom is my oldest “nephew,” my first “kid” to be married on our land. The son of one of of my longest standing BFF FOREVER.

We have had to downsize our garden this year. We have focused on growing herbs for pest control, as well as allowing our chickens to till the beds, reducing pest load.
Preparing for wedding season we planted marigolds, violets, and have decorated our space with my late father’s antiques. (Including my Great Grandpas push mower)
We were gifted a few starts, and have 6 beds of potatoes started.
We also separated our raspberries and started them in a bed of their own.
It’s looking so darling. I can’t wait to show you all the wedding photos!!

Please follow and support my friend Michelle! She is local to the coast and her farm stand is taking off. We were not able to grow our own starts this year and we will definitely be purchasing from them.
This family also adopted Rufus and Rudy, our boy goats, so they feel a little like family.

Ok you guys! Someone NEEDS TO adopt Lefty! My Nephew abd Niece have been fostering him through HeartsForPaws rescue. Please read his bio and share! Find this sweet boy a home!

Lefty is a 3/4 month old cattle dog mix pulled from the Los Banos Shelter.
How can so much sweetness fit in such a little puppy?! Lefty is the sweetest boy ever! He’s snuggly, playful, happy, and will make your heart grow in sizes!
His tail literally never stops wagging. It wags when he walks, when he plays, when he sees his food, when he sees treats, when he drinks water, and even when you hold him. All around good boy. Lefty also does fabulous on car rides! He doesn’t cry, whine, or vomit in car. Hour long car rides are no problem for him! He just snoozes away.
Lefty is a young baby boy but has been doing good on training. His recall is getting better and better each day. He’s very very treat motivated, so it makes training so much easier. We even trimmed his nails with zero problem as long as we were giving him a bit of kibble in between! He does good check ins when we walk on leash. He knows sit! He sits when he sees his food. He has almost mastered his “crate” command. He sleeps in his crate every night, no accidents in the crate over night. He will make gentle noise to let you know when he’s awake and needs to go potty in the morning. We are learning his cues and are learning from each other every day! Lefty loves people and he loves other dogs, he plays like your typically puppy. And even though he’s part cattle dog, he’s not mouthy. We are currently working on slow exposure with our rabbit and chickens.
Lefty stayed with a temp foster that had small kids for a few days, and he did great with the little kids! He even fell asleep snuggling one of them!
He has all of his shots and is ready to explore.

Auntie and her little garden gnome planted their 4th bin of potatoes today. The rain gave us a break and the sunshine 🌞 was absolutely beautiful. Digging in the dirt soaking up the Vitamin D was exactly what we needed.

So much happening in our garden. Our young flock of hens and proud rooster are scouring the garden for pests. Michael man handled this coop and moved it into the garden!
My little worm finder helped plant another container of russet potatoes.
Our garden will be small but mighty this season.

BFF Update!
Family before Farming.
Michael and I are pairing down our farming venture as it was taking up every second of our time when we are not working. We want to focus on our kids, family, and fun!
There were many other factors as well. Our garden is in disarray. We lost our hoop house and every crop has been eaten by pests, with the exception of our amazing potatoes!
We will have offerings of potatoes when they are abundant.
We will still grow our own food.
We will let our goats graze and fertilize the area where are garden is. We are also moving a flock of chickens in to eradicate the pests for a season, and we will plant tons of herbs to deter the future pests!
We have rehomed our other 16 hens and rooster as well as our rabbits while we turn towards family and rebuilding in 2024.
We are offering our site for amazing weddings to take a hands off approach while we turn in towards family.
We appreciate every customer we have served in our community and we look forward to offering potato’s, and sharing some eggs from our farm.
We can’t wait to see the magic unfold for many couples who come to celebrate their love with their families while we concentrate on ours.
