A Mothers Legacy of Love
(Long post, a rare occurrence from me)
Happy Mothers Day 2022 I’m missing my mom extra big today, as I know many of you can relate! I’m also feeling so incredibly grateful & blessed that I am a mom! I was given a really great role model for motherhood. MY definition of that, is a mom who didn’t try or pretend to be perfect! She kept it “real”. She kept it funny, made me feel like a priority and afforded me the freedom to be ME at ALL TIMES! My house was full of music, laughter & lots of teasing each other ( keeping our sense of humor & not taking ourselves too seriously, not to mention humble). Manners & expressing GRATITUDE were a top priority. Work ethic was enforced & expected. I always KNEW I wanted to be a mom someday, because of how much I loved my mom & had so much fun with her…I wanted that role too! God honored the desire of my heart with my Jadey-girl and I’ve found motherhood to be above & beyond anything I had ever hoped for! I remember reading so many books on raising your kids when Jade was born & my mom said “just be” and she’ll catch on to faith, kindness, respect, & manners…that’s all we did!” So much of their wisdom was. “Right on!” ( however The strong willed child book was much needed with my wild-child 😉🤪). Since I’m turning 60 in a few months, I’ve found myself reflecting a lot lately. I’m clear that my favorite role/job in my life is…MOM! Jades mom, step mom, second mom to many along the way, dog mom & momma-bear to so many of my wedding couples on their journey. I’m “feeling” Mothers Day extra deeply this year! Feeling an abundance of GRATITUDE for my incredible mom! And, GRATITUDE that I’ve been given the opportunity to be Jades mom. Got 2 awesome step kids with my marriage 5 years ago. And, since this is my business page…I want my couples to know how happy, grateful & blessed I’ve felt that I got to serve as your momma-bear in the trenches of wedding planning.
