I quit my job to pursue wedding filmmaking in 2021.

I was living at home with my parents at the time so if my plan didn’t work out at least I wouldn’t end up homeless again.

Yup, I couch-surfed more than once during my time at Sac State (but that’s a different story for another day).

It felt both scary and liberating when I put in my 2 weeks notice at work. Was I really about to trade a guaranteed paycheck in exchange for hopes and dreams? What if it didn’t work out? With bills to pay, a baby on the way, and my own wedding day slowly creeping up… failure was simply not an option. My plan just HAD to work.

Looking back it was a major leap of faith and I’m extremely proud I took it. Obviously it worked out. With that being said… I would’ve NEVER been able to do it without ANY OF YOU.

Yes, you. If you ever told me I was good at my craft, thank you. You helped me believe in myself.

If you ever hired me for a music video, thank you. You helped me improve at my craft.

If you hired me to capture one of the most important days of your life, I’m extremely grateful forever ❤️

Back on Instagram like I never left! 😎 It’s nice to delete the app from time to time and take a break from social media. I shot a short documentary in college with my iPhone 5c and won 2nd place in a film festival. I took the prize money and bought a Canon Rebel SL1 at Target. It was an entry level camera with one of those kit lens. I didn’t know a damn thing about cameras at the time but I figured it’d make me look more “professional”. Fast forward to 2022 and I’m now shooting weddings for a living. I don’t know how I ended up here… I’m just going along for the ride and loving every second of it ✨

Did you know that just 1 second of video is composed of at least 24 individual images? That's right, videocameras work like flip-books! This is where the term "frames per second" comes from. Most movies and videos you see on tv are filmed at 24 FPS.

Finally! A website I can be proud of 🥸 For the longest time I had the domain name, and a poor excuse of a website with all the generic widgets on there. But now, I feel particularly proud of this achievement because I built it from scratch myself without any outside help. I’d like to give a special shout-out to for giving me permission to use her amazing photos from a wedding we both worked on together back in December of last year. She’s a fantastic Sacramento-based photographer who I’d highly recommend 🌟
