The two of us, two sets of parents and two (very concerned) cats later and we’d fully evacuated in the early morning hours on Sunday before Hurricane Ida made landfall.

We are safe. Our home and business both fared well, with only minimal repairs ahead personally. Storms like these bring anxiety for many. The ability to evacuate is a privilege that we are grateful to have, but in doing so we trade the known of our safety for the unknown of our home, our friends and family who stayed, our city. We wait with heavy hearts while respecting the request of government officials to not return until further notice as damage assessments are made and dangers conditions are addressed.

In the meantime, we count the blessings of our community - from every text message and call of concern, thinking-of-you email, photos sent of our home and kitchen, to the neighbors who cleaned and aired the last of our refrigerator. We are grateful for you all.

As we collect our thoughts and ourselves, we’ll be in touch with our clients with scheduled events upcoming as soon as we can. Wishing everyone mental and physical health in the days to come. And we can’t wait to celebrate with you soon.
