　2011年7月29日付の京都新聞に、「赤れんがジャズ祭、20年の歴史に幕」という記事が出て、各所から残念がる声が多数立ち上がりました。

　これまで赤煉瓦ジャズ祭にスタッフとして参加し、また毎月のジャズイベントなどを開催してきた赤煉瓦ライブハウス実行委員会として、赤煉瓦ジャズ祭の「街の活性化」という役割を受け継ぎつつ、さらなる発展を目指すイベントを今後展開していきます。

　そのきっかけとして、この夏に「赤煉瓦サマージャズ+1」として、ジャズ祭より小規模ながらも、ジャズ好き、イベント好きの人達が集まれるライブを行いたいと思います。
