So sad to hear about the passing of Co Longford’s own Tom Skelly.
Tom was one of the nicest people in the set dancing scene and loved playing for dancers.
He rejoined Johnny Reidy and his band here for a few tunes in the Longford Arms hotel back in 2019.

May he rest in peace. 🪕

Had a bad fall yesterday and broke 3 bones in my right foot, surgery today and another operation required next week when the swelling goes down. Unfortunately all my advertised dance classes will have to be cancelled, the surgeon has advised it will be early next year before I can return to the dance floor 😢. My upcoming dance weekend in Longford WILL go ahead as planned with the help of my siblings ( thank you guys ) , I have to stay in hospital for 7 - 10 days so unfortunately I won’t be able to attend myself.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who travelled to Longford this weekend, it was so good to see so many people enjoying themselves set dancing again. 🥰
Brilliant music all weekend from Rise the Dust, Johnny Reidy, The Blackwater Céilí Band & Shaun Loughrey (thank you). Thanks also to Marie Garrity for her lovely two hand workshop on Sunday morning. Thanks to the management & staff in the Longford Arms Hotel.

See you all again next year with the help of god.

Here are two fantastic tunes composed in memory of Gabrielle Cassidy. The first is a waltz called ( Laughing & Smiling ) composed by Stephen Doherty , the second a reel called ( Our Friend Gaye ) composed by David Doocey. Thanks a million to both of them for taking the time to write these great tunes . They are joined on stage here with the fantastic Shandrum / Five Counties.
