Jay and Jess are staying ahead of the cold weather (🤞), adding a bay onto our gutter-connect.

Back when we put the first two bays in (2019), we were scrambling into December, under contract to finish by end of year. Figuring out our end wall design took a particularly long time so I am grateful we have the mock-up already in place!

Very excited to have another 30x72 of covered space for 2027. This time of year is like farming in a cloud: I always want more tunnels.

💥5 carts out the door on a Sunday morning at the end of September feels like a huge win.

We finally nailed our mid-summer sowing plan and while there are plenty of tweaks to be made, it’s still feeling abundant around here.

The full moon’s always the coldest night of the month in our experience. We slipped thru last night’s harvest moon without a frost so here’s to hopefully at least another couple months of tender flowers 🌕

We made it to September!

Long time no post which means it’s been busy! We’re all the way into celosia season - shown off here c/o Maddie! and onto our next succession of foxglove 😊

Other updates in no particular order:

🌸August was excellent for sales and not particularly good for mental health
🌸Half our crew is injured/sick/on vacation
🌸Paying off debts season is here
🌸The chickens are on their own program now 🫠
🌸Back burner projects getting moved to the front burner
🌸Trying to hold it all together as we are still very much in heavy duty harvest season
🌸More dark hours = more rest (or I’m just too tired to try to get it all done 🌈)
🌸Now calling crop failures “experiments”
🌸I work with some incredibly kind and hard-working people

🌈Happy Pride Bellingham!!!

Most of my adult life I’ve felt too q***r or not q***r enough, but the LGBTQ community has always embraced me and helped me stay safe without needing me to bracket myself into anything resembling a stable identity.

Q***r community has taught me how to better love and be loved, gifting me expansive understandings of family, gender, and identity: has made me freer.

Here’s to protecting each other as we keep blooming a world that takes care of all of us, that loves us as we are and become, that uplifts the most vulnerable.

We deserve nothing less 💐
