New name, same attitude. 🖕

After 19 years, I have decided to change my DJ name. The motivation for this change stems from persistent misspellings and, at times, the deliberate omission of the word 'Slut.'
The name "AlienSlut" has its roots in my first musical adventure, "the AlienSluts," a punk riot project that ended in tears and slaps. The essence of these two words has a very important meaning for me: "Alien" reflects my constant feeling of being an outsider in this twisted world, while "Slut" draws inspiration from a picture of my heroine, Kathleen Hanna. She was used to write "slut" on her stomach as a form of protest. Also since I was little more than a young girl, 13/14 years old, still a virgin and inexperienced, they used to call me "slut," I never understood why, maybe because I dared to be different. In ancient times we were called witches, today we are called "w***e." Word changed, always the same inept people. But as I used to wear red lipstick, I wore this word, and I made it my own. You will understand the anger I get, when I see my name misspelled or even omitted.
People change, I have changed, even though I am still that proud little girl who walked tall among what they think is an insult.
The new name again pays homage to Kathleen Hanna. The song 'Alien She' by Bikini Kill is a powerful feminist anthem that addresses themes of identity, sisterhood, and resistance to societal expectations.
