Throw at was graced by the Kuzdzal family from The DC area today Valde his wife Madeline AKA BABY AXE with their daughters Lily and Jen who attends came in to throw for their first time. After a few minutes they looked like professionals competing against each other. Thank you for coming in making Throw a part of your weekend! 🪓❤️🪓.
We are currently looking for more Axe Throwing bad axes at the South Hills, The Waterfront and Southpointe coming soon! This is a part-time position and you must be willing to work holidays, nights and weekends! If you are able to travel to multiple locations more hours can be provided!
Our coaches will need to deliver a safe, entertaining and awesome experience for our customers! You will have a multitude of responsibilities as you will be overseeing customer experience from their point of arrival to the end of their time at THROW Axes Pittsburgh!
Responsibilities
Share and engage our customers in a fun but professional manner
Coaching-You will be assisting our customers in learning to throw an axe safely and correctly, so that they will be able to enjoy the activity themselves. (Don’t worry we’ll train you on the proper techniques)
Set-Up- Clean axe arena, axes and all surfaces between groups. Ensure projectors and/or targets are ready and changed.
Payment processing- Most of our bookings are done in advance but we do accept walk-ins if we are not fully booked. You will be responsible for checking customers in, taking payment and ensuring all participants have signed the correct waivers.
Safety is our first priority- You will be in charge of ensuring all equipment is up to standard and safe during your shift, ensuring that all customers are following our safety rules and procedures at all times, and delivering first response if necessary (in extremely rare cases-we have yet to have any incidents at any of our locations).
You will be assisting in taking calls and questions about bookings and private events.
Set-up and Clean-up. The usual so that our facility looks awesome and intriguing!
Please note that when we get busy it can be chaotic but fun. You need to handle stressful situation with ease.
Qualifications
Must love to THROW things (don't worry we will teach you how it's done properly!)
Communication skills are required- You will be constantly engaging our customers-humor is always a plus as your may job is to ensure ALL customers enjoy their experience at THROW Axes Pittsburgh
Leadership Skills- You must display high confidence and be able to manage group dynamics
Take initiative to prevent problems before they occur! Safety is a top priority
Thinking on your feet is a must. As you will be dealing with an array of personalities, you must be able to engage and counteract various personalities and questions.
Experience in working in the hospitality and/or retail environment is a huge PLUS
Must be able to use a drill and change out the boards on the targets.
Ability to lift and carry wood and other items up to 50 lbs.
Must have reliable transportation to get to and from your shift.
Job Type: Part-Time
Pay: $10/hour + tips

Braxton is 8 years old but is an old spirit. First off while I was coaching I had a few problems sticking my two handed throw. Braxton said “ Don’t quit your day job coach”. Too funny. Then look what he did. He hit a bullseye 🎯. Congratulations to both Braxton and Heather for making time with Throw.......
Joy had so much fun last week that she came back to the Waterfront to throw again today. But instead of throwing with her family she is enjoying a ladies day out and brought her friend from High School, Kim.
This was Kim’s first time throwing but you would notice have though that. After making a few adjustments she started lighting up the target along with Joy.
