I remember when Goose was quite young, whenever she was asked her favourite colour, the answer regularly changed, but she would never say pink.

Years later she told me that actually pink had always been her favourite colour but, the rebel in her wouldn’t admit it. All of her friends loved pink & people often expect young girls to choose pink as their favourite colour & she really didn’t want to be the same as everyone else! She’s always had a strong desire to be different!

Thankfully she learned to embrace her true self, regardless of if others liked pink too. There’s plenty of pink to go around! 🩷🌸

Yes, I actually love having a child who doesn’t want to follow along with the norm & wants to be unique … but of course never just for the sake of being different, but for being confident enough to honour your true self.

Any party animals at your house? 🦓 🦁🐆🐘🦒 🎂

SUPER SIMPLE PARTY IDEAS -

To set the scene for a safari, jungle or zoo themed party you could … just add our stickers to some party bags, cups & party hats, gather your indoor plants or foliage from your garden & arrange on the party food table along with your kids toy animal collection and maybe some balloons & streamers if you’re feeling extra festive! Eco friendly palm leaf plates & kraft brown cups would match this theme perfectly.

To entertain the kids you could set up some fun activity stations with some animal tattoos, colouring pages or a photo booth as well as pass the parcel & maybe a piñata & pin the tail on the lion 🦁.

A homemade chocolate cake with a toy animal or two with a party hat on the top, a fruit platter, some fairy bread, sausage rolls, chips & lollies & you’re all set!

“I am always a seeker of magic & delight & joy”

🌞🌈 🎈

Listening to speak last week on my favourite podcast - the - & I wrote down the above words as they really resonated with me. I am a seeker of all those things & choose to see the bright side whenever I can & it’s a big part of this little biz of mine, to help bring joy, magic & delight!

Kemi also talked about celebrating our wins & when we reach a goal. Even the small steps of achievement along the way, no matter how small.

I am so up for that! We don’t celebrate ourselves enough! Are you good at celebrating your achievements, whether big or small? Or do you tend to just move straight onto the next thing like I do?

We don’t always have to throw ourselves a big party (although you know I’m partial to those 😉), I’m sure a simple cheers 🥂 with friends, or rewarding ourselves with a bunch of flowers 💐 or getting our nails done is more than enough for us to give space to & recognise how awesome we are! 💪🏼

You know when you first walk into a party & it can feel a little awkward while you’re waiting for everyone to arrive?

I like to have a few activities set up that people can get into straight away while they’re waiting & then remain available all throughout the party for when there is a lull or for the kids that need a quieter activity.

These are my favourites that work for most ages from 3 - 12 yr old …

- Tattoos
- Colouring pages
- Photo Booth with props
- Cookie/cupcake decorating
- Simple craft

Photo booths with fun props at parties can be a great way to break the ice & bring in a bit of silliness & play no matter the age!

A few dress ups or some handmade props (like this cardboard flame on a stick from last weekend’s dragon themed party) & a white wall or sheet as a back drop is all you need to put this inexpensive party activity together. I often love to add streamers & balloons too for a bit of colour!

A photo taken on a polaroid film makes a cute gift for party guests or a simple photo taken on your phone can be texted as part of a post party ‘thank you’.

Have you ever heard of a cake made entirely of fairy floss?! 🧚🏻‍♂️ 🎂

I love collaborating with other local small businesses when I’m curating a party & I’ve got a long list of unique & so very lovely suppliers that I absolutely love working with to put something together for you that’s a little unique & outside the box.

This birthday girl is allergic to dairy & nuts & her bestie has a gluten allergy, so this was the perfect birthday cake thanks to who makes them to order (& ships them all over Australia in a trusty cake shaped bucket!)

Then there’s the made to order froggy cake topper from 🐸

With you won’t be getting a run of the mill party like everybody else’s.

Hands up if your kids would like a fairy floss cake 🙋🏼‍♀️

Authenticity & showing up in a way that is true to yourself & what you value has been coming up a lot in conversation in my sphere lately. In particular, when talking about ourselves as women and how we are only just starting to become confident to do that more fully as we have got older.
We’ve sadly learned over time to hide our true colours for a gazillion of reasons.

Merry Christmas my friends! This photo was taken last weekend while picking some prehistoric style foliage from my garden for a dinosaur themed party. I’ll get around to showing you some photos soon as it was a great one, but for now I’m crawling to the finish line into a nice long break. I’ll still show up here on insta, as I just can’t help myself, but as we’ll be away the online store is now closed & my Party PA service is on hold until I return, ready to party, on 1 Feb 2023. You’ll still be able to send me enquiries & place orders over that time, but shipping and responses will be on hold until I return.

Stocking Stuffers!

Melbourne weather. Summer 🌞 one day, but back to winter ❄️ the next therefore … perfect weather for mulled wine!
