There are many online tools provided to couples to help plan their wedding. If the couple has the time, patience, and money to plan their wedding - they can navigate through all of these online checklists, vendors, and venues to plan their perfect wedding day. The Knot magazine created a handy tool called “The Knot Concierge” which I personally used to research vendors and venues for my wedding. I planned my wedding in three months (of course with the input of my fiancé.) I was able to do this because I have already taken a few wedding and event planning courses in my spare time. However, there was a missing piece to this whole online-only process - a person to hand off all my work to once my wedding day comes. A person who would be attached to the whole process and vision just as much as I was. A person that could be my eyes and ears on our wedding day while we married and celebrated with our loved ones. Fortunately, for my future husband, I was able to juggle a full-time job as a pharmacy manager, open a new pharmacy in the heart of Philadelphia, cook dinner, walk the dogs, clean, schedule/attend venue/vendor meetings, and exercise while still maintaining my sanity.

After researching wedding planners and day-of coordinators, all of these cookie-cutter packages did not tailor to the millennial-couple who can do most of the legwork themselves. There are no packages that give credit for what the couple has already done prior to booking their wedding planner. Not many couples will have the ability to do what we did in three months. On the other hand, a majority of couples can start but not finish their wedding planning due to personal commitments and their demanding careers.

Chic Dahlia provides two packages. The first package is for the couple who booked all of their venues and vendors but needs their wedding planner to understand and execute their wedding vision. The second package is for the couple who started but did not finish their wedding planning before reserving Chic Dahlia. Through a series of questionnaires and consultations, Chic Dahlia will see where the couple has left off, what does the couple expect from their wedding planner, and the final proposal will reflect all of their input.

Chic Dahlia will have an online presence by June 2018 and book clients for 2019. Chic Dahlia’s wedding planner will be the Founder - a soon-to-be bride with a background in memorizing medication doses, strengths, formulations, and her patient’s profiles. Attention-to-detail is her strength while still being efficient and accurate. There is a gap in service to the wedding industry. Wedding planners are not taking into account our millenials who have a world of information in their hands - they do not need the whole planning package and should not be charged for one.
