Do you know what the opposite of a Type-A personality is? Me. I'm Jen, and I might be the most easy-going, laid-back planner in New England (not that I've taken a poll or anything).

I'm organized and I have great systems. Stress and chaos have no place here. And with every fiber of my being, I believe that...

✨ Planning should be an enjoyable experience for you
✨ Sweating the small stuff is bad for your mental health
✨ Everyone will be just fine if your timeline goes a little sideways

I'm going to help you plan the best party of your life. It's going to be the most beautiful space your guests have ever seen. The food will be divine. The music will be remembered for decades. Today, my youngest got on the bus, sweetly holding hands with his big sister, off to his first day of kindergarten.

My daughter has always seemed like a gentle leader. Perhaps it's just that she's the first born. I rejoice in her "firsts," loving that I get to watch her grow and feeling eternally grateful (and a bit humbled) that I am the one who gets to guide her through adolescence and into adulthood. As she grows up, so do I.

But my son is my baby. And somehow it hits differently that as he grows older, so do I. All I can think about is his future. I wonder what he'll be like as a young man. I often wonder what song we'll dance to at his wedding (God willing). I hope I love his spouse, and I hope the love is returned.

Don't mind me if I'm a bit teary during the mother-son dances this month.
