I’ve eased into this season with intimate weddings… shorter guest lists, smaller venues, super personalized details. I LOVE small celebrations, and have definitely found a sweet spot in my heart for them.

However, next weekend’s wedding marks the shift into bigger celebrations for the rest of the year. Longer guest lists, lots and lots of details - and I can’t help but get really excited for these big bashes!! 🎉

Escape the heat today by living vicariously through Robyn and Kai's stunning, snowy, fall elopement out at Oro Ranch! I love getting my wedding clients in front of my camera before the actual wedding day - here are a few reasons why:

1. I get to know so much about you and how you interact with your partner when we don’t have the pressure and nerves of a wedding day going on at the same time. Understanding YOU and YOUR story makes for one of a kind, personality-filled imagery.

2. Your nerves about being in front of the camera can be put at ease. A session before the big day is a great practice run!

3. We get to take our time! It’s fun and relaxing and just an all around enjoyable EXPERIENCE celebrating the fact that you are engaged!

SOOOO excited to head back to this piece of heaven this fall. is definitely a favorite location, out in the middle of nowhere, with views that never fail to take your breath away. 🏔️✨

Other amazing features?

1. Luxurious, comfortable lodging. A must for guests when your wedding is so far away from other hotels.

2. Indoor spaces to host your wedding, in case the weather takes a turn for the worst.... which happens occasionally here in Montana.

3. Acreage. There’s a ton of space around the lodge, which means more variety and privacy when we are off taking portraits!

June!? How is this year going by so quickly?

Gearing up for a rather busy month of engagement, bo***ir, family and brand shoots, and then July hits and I will disappear until November with weddings up to my ears. 😂 2020's cancelled wedding season is merging into 2021's season with full force and I am SO EXCITED about what's in store. ✨

Albums. Love them, or not your thing?

I’ve recently been asking this question:

Would you rather have an album, prints in a pretty box, or wall art (canvases, framed prints, etc.)?

Money’s not a factor, and this question is for anyone - not just couples getting married!

I’m an album and print fan, myself, but I want to know which you prefer?

Reminiscing back to Madeline and Joel’s heartfelt elopement that took place here at home in the Bitterroot Valley. ✨

Stripped of the fanfare of an elaborate, traditional wedding because of the Covid lockdown, these two embraced the intimacy of an elopement wholeheartedly.

Full of dancing, laughter, friends be family via zoom, gentle touches and soft kisses, their wedding day focused on what was absolutely the most important to them. ❤️

They are an unstoppable couple, and it was an honor to be there with them that day!

Hao, telling Meg how excited he was that they would finally be married by the time the sun came up over the mountains. ⛰

He was so present in their wedding ceremony, so intentional with every word he said... taking the time to pause, breathe, take in his surroundings and admire his beautiful bride standing in front of him.

This sunrise elopement ceremony on the shores of Lake McDonald was truly filled with magic.✨

I've heard a theory that claims that what inspires you is what you don't currently have an abundance of in your world.

Currently loving the vibe of this photo and those like it 👆🏻

It's minimal and clean. (My house definitely needs some TLC 😬)

It's simple. (There are a million tabs open in my brain 🧠)

It's subtle. (Spring Break = lots of kiddo energy all day long 🤪)

I think there might be something to this theory. What are your thoughts? 🤔
