My fascination with weddings began when I was as a child; my mom was involved with planning weddings for family and friends. As far back as I can remember I was a flower girl in more weddings than I could count. Andrew, Jamaica, West Indies, weddings were much more traditional at that time. What sparked my interest was the special way wedding cakes were prepared, kept and handled, before the weddi
ng day, like it was a precious gift to the bride and groom. After moving to New York, my parents started a limousine business in 1983, of course weddings were a major part of our bookings. After getting married in 1984 my husband and I became partners in the business. In 1988 after taking over the business we added Tuxedo rentals and bridal accessories to the business, which we still currently own. In 1989, we also opened a high fashion shoe store, followed by a specialty boutique a year later. It brought my great pleasure to be part of the wedding industry. My enthusiasm as a child and experience as a business woman has given me the inspiration to start Signature Caribbean Weddings Magazine. It will feature:
