Thanks to our favorite Bridgnorth Languages Tutor for Fridays French class.
It's fantastic to see how the children are developing in language skills, and in confidence. These classes are so much fun we always enjoy learning.

Thanks also to Bridgnorth Library and Visitor Information Point for a warm welcome, we appreciate having access to meeting space in the center of the community.

Thanks to Stephanie Bellows at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre for delivering two bespoke workshops on Darwin for Home EdVenturers (Midlands)

Two great hands on classes one learning about geology and fossils, and creating our own fossils. A second class on 'Thinking like Darwin' using scientific thought to explore evolution around us.

These classes form part of our current Darwin topic over and we appreciate the flexibility and knowledge, in creating these bespoke sessions for us, and we look forward to future visits.

Home EdVenturers (Midlands) enjoyed another class with Wellington Community Art Gallery this week, exploring the work of Gustav Klimt, and his work 'The Kiss' representing the apex of his "Golden Period"
Every class introduces new knowledge, about the artist, their inspiration and period in time, as well as teaching new techniques to enable our children to create their own artwork.
Thank you Heather and Mary for all you share

Thanks to Anna Leppänen , learning and engagement officer at Lapworth Museum of Geology, University of Birmingham who helped arrange our recent KS4/iGCSE workshop, experiments and academic talks.

The days topic was 'Composition of the Earth' aimed at home educated children studying for their iGCSE in Environmental Management and/or iGCSE Geography.

We looked at what the Earth is made from, and how it is structured, working through a series of experiments to identify how and where sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rocks form.

We examined the processes behind transforming one rock type into another in the rock cycle, and discussed which rocks are useful resources and where they might be located.

Thank you to University of Birmingham Dr Emma Ferranti, associate professor at the School of Engineering, also Dr Samantha Dobbie, Education Lead at Birmingham Institute of Forest Research (BIFoR) who both delivered exceptional talks to our young people.

Learning from those with experience in the field, and being able to get hands on in this way is a huge boost to anyone looking ahead to exams.
We very much appreciate all the time, energy and experience that was shared with our Home EdVenturers (Midlands) young people on this visit.

Fabulous experience for Home EdVenturers (National Events UK) as we headed back to the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry again last night, this time to see Fantastically Great Women the Musical

Kenny Wax Family Entertainment in association with MAST Mayflower Studios created this empowering pop musical.

We meet and many more independent icons, who really did change the world.

It's so important all our children know these names, and understand their contribution to our lives, and this show certainly made an impression no textbook ever could!

Fabulous theater trip for Home EdVenturers (National Events UK) at Belgrade Theatre, Coventry to see Shrek The Musical UK

Our families sang-a-long to hits such as I‘m A Believer and Big Bright Beautiful World and marveled at the performance of Joanne Clifton known to many from BBC Strictly Come Dancing but also a fabulous singer and actor.

Great memories and a fabulous theatre experience for all.

The Montessori Rainbow delivered a bespoke class for Home EdVenturers (Midlands) in line with our Charles Darwin topic that's running through February and March.
Our children learned about different styles of writing, including the scientific writing Darwin would have been familiar with. Using reference books we recorded details about animals, and their features.

Thank you to Verity Edwards for arranging this mornings Home EdVenturers (Midlands) visit with the Mayor of Walsall Councillor Chris Tow, and his daughter Mayoress Louisa.
Our children enjoyed a tour of the chambers and learned about local democracy and history during this visit.

Home EdVenturers appreciate the time and energy given to our children today, and will donate to the mayor's charity in appreciation.

An exceptional art class today with Wellington Community Art Gallery teacher Heather Reid, at Bridgnorth Library and Visitor Information Point

Our theme of how science initiated nature means these classes are always so much more than art.
We covered science, biology and physics of drag and resistance for a flying squirrel. We learned about the science behind parachutes and of course drawing techniques, using chalks and pencils to create our own masterpiece.

Thank you Heather for all you do, or children live to learn with you

Home education means you can truly select the best teachers, to work with your child.
So when Home EdVenturers (Midlands) booked our new #2024 literacy classes, we were lucky enough to get the full experience and enthusiasm of a Deputy head and literacy specialist, to work with our children.

With a topic of 'new beginnings', our children reviewed what they liked about #2023, and looked forward to #2024

Another great practical class for our older children in with
Bekki’s Bakes and Cakes
We were learning how to make plaited bread. Everyone got hands on, me measuring, mixing and kneeding the dough before shaping and baking.
There's nothing quite like the smell of fresh baked bread, and it tasted as good as it looked! 💗

Gracias and merci to Bridgnorth Languages Tutor for our French and Spanish classes, that are always 'out of your chair' fun 💗
From beginners to advanced level Faye is wonderful with our children. Teaching, and following up with extra 'at home' revision.
Ranking as "my favorite home Ed moment from 2023" from one child, and several others who only come to these groups because it's Faye teaching, she makes even the most anxious feel at ease and confident.

Anyone thinking about learning a language needs our Bridgnorth language teacher!

Home EdVenturers (National Events UK) started a new year with a hands on foley workshop at Harry Potter Warner Bros Studios Learning how sound is added to films, and creating their own soundtrack.

Thanks to Rebecca and her team who delivered a class that kept all ages engaged and excited!

Harry Potter Studios were still themed for so the tour added a little extra winter magic after our class.

Fully back to classes this week as today took Home EdVenturers (Midlands) to Wellington Community Art Gallery.
Our first visit of #2024
We went back to basics to learn all about primary, secondary and tertiary colors, tints and hughes, but as always these classes are so much more.

Huge thanks to Heather and Mary for all their time, care and enthusiasm shared generously with our kids.

We have the same families booking again and again, so it was lovely to welcome old faces back, and meet some new ones. As the community continues to grow, so does Home EdVenturers

Welcome to 2024!
Home EdVenturers (Midlands) and Home EdVenturers (National Events UK) want to start 2024 by saying a huge THANK YOU to the wonderful people who made 2023 a fantastic year for

We always try to say a personal thanks at the time, so hopefully those who have gone the extra mile, who enthused our kids with their knowledge, who shared what they know with kindness and with generosity, all know who they are!

We also want to say a huge thanks to the unsung volunteers who give their time to set up events for out community. Home EdVenturers are entirely non profit so the hours that go into making hundreds of learning oppertunities possible, are very much appreciated.

In 2023 we have met some really wonderful community leaders who have shared not only what they know, but who they know, and in turn created more oppertunities for our families.

2024 is looking even more exciting, with our usual core topics, including literacy, art, science, history, languages, music and cooking, plus lots of active events. We also have new exciting oppertunities on the horizon.

All home educating families are wellcome to join the groups tagged above, and see events when they are open for booking.

Thank you especially to the following, tagged as groups, but it's the individuals that have really made a difference in 2023

Thanks to Becky at Play Lane Bakes for our pre baking class.
Home EdVenturers (Midlands) enjoyed making yule logs and learning new skills
As a 'drop off' session these classes are much more than baking, encouraging independence and living skills.

Feedback from our parents is always positive

"My boys enjoyed making and eating their logs thanks so much for this class as it’s getting them to become more independent"
