Kia Ora Hawkes Bay 👋🏽

Originally this was just DJ based, But i thought why not open it to everyone in the local Hawkes bay music scene and also to the public.

This is an event that had being sitting in the back of head for a while so thought, Pick it out ya brain and make it happen! So here we are!

This is a free event. Where I will cover certain topics for our scene. But in saying that, Its open to everyone, anything & everything to do with the scene. Overall goal is i want our scene to be as healthy as possible. So invite ya muso mates and even just the normal patrons/friends that attend local shows. Come & have a say too. Especially those ones who have a lot to say few beers in!

***GOAL CHASING***

Growing up in a house hold that I did. I wasn't told to "go chase my dreams" or the word "goals" was never mentioned. Infact, it was very foreign to hear those words in our house or in general growing up in the 90s. Especially when you grew up and all you saw was shed parties, alcohol & D.V

Considering i did not want to be a DJ at all. looking back now, DJ'ing actually saved me! I literally only had myself & VHS tapes to watch back then. Hard yards = Skill & knowledge. Proof is in the pudding ✅️

And now I get to share what I've learnt with the next generation and my own children.

To our Rangatahi... Be dream chasers! Set those goals and go after them!

The one thing I told 15 year old me back in 2004 was "I hope to return to my old school to give back" And now here we are 21 years later.

Got to korero with the seniors at Hastings Boys' High School today about the journey, goals , share some knowledge and of course... The Music! I loved being back at my old high school today. Also got to hang out with my son who is a year 9. I still had to shout him lunch though 😆 Thank you to Mr Lindsay for having me. Today was a good day ( voice)

When in gizzy. You grab whats in sight and start building 🔨 Coffee tables, A plastic bin, My Turntables case and a Chalk board to create my perfect table height 👌🏽 Nailed it 😄 Out here for the Mōwai art Exhibition. Playing amongst a bunch of local Artist in the creative space.
