I never planned on being a visual storyteller it's just something I fell in complete love with. I remember getting into portraiture to help people see themselves the way I saw them - and I made it my artistic mantra to change the world one person at a time by making them see how beautiful and unique they truly are. I never really got into nature photography, or flowers - things that stood still, I

liked the emotion in someones eyes, telling their story visually, and using my skills as a master photographer to portray them the best I can. I want people to feel amazing and confident after our shoot together - otherwise what good is my job? At the end of the day I like to help people see things differently. or just help them see it at all.

Thank you to Capt. Billy’s Whizbang Theater for hiring me to photograph the promotional images for their latest play, “ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF JOHNSON COUNTY”.

The play is based in Iowa City during a zombie apocalypse — 🧟💚 — and it’s written/directed by Scott Smith (who I met during the shoot - and I adore him already!)

When Grant asked what outfit he should wear in the pool for his senior photos - I told him to wear his suit... well... he did just that! :-)

Loved this senior session. It was so much fun to get to bring Grant's vibrant personality to life through a series of images we created together. His shoot included hanging from trees, hundreds of card flying at the camera, skateboarding through the school and more.
