Asset Progression refers to growing one's wealth through meticulously curated investments through properties.

Need cash to reinvest into a higher-value property?

You can if you manage to get a good profit when you sell your current unit. This is what we call asset progression. But how can you get a good profit and what is considered a good enough profit so I don't have to worry about topping up the downpayment? You will be looking at the different types of property to invest in, the right time to sell, the type of bank loan you can take and lots more.

If you want to sell your private residential property, you must wait 15 months before buying a non-subsidised resale HDB...

If you want to sell your private residential property, you must wait 15 months before buying a non-subsidised resale HDB. Both current and previous Private property owners will need to dispose of their private properties within 6 months of their non-subsidised HDB flats.

Exceptions apply to those aged 55 and above who are downsizing to a 4-room or smaller HDB to supplement their retirement funds.

The loan-to-value limit for loans taken with HDB will also be lowered from 85 per cent to 80 per cent to ensure prudent borrowing and avoid difficulties in servicing home loans. Whereas, for property loans from private financial institutions, MAS will raise by 0.5 percentage point the medium-term interest rate floor used to compute the total debt servicing ratio and mortgage servicing ratio.
