Thank you so much to everyone who has bought tickets to my events, your support is appreciated. I never thought the Saffron events would go much beyond a few people coming down for a laugh, now we’re running events with up to 50 people playing in the town.

We’ve got some space left for our Saffron Crimbo Doubles (40K) in December, and we’ll be announcing the 2025 calendar very soon! I’m hoping to be able to put on SIX 40K and SIX Old World events next year 🤞🤞🤞

Felt so good to get a full on 2,000pt game of Warhammer: The Old World today! My burgeoning Vampire Counts force took on the Ogre Kingdoms.

It ended in a 16-4 win for the Vampire Counts!

I managed to scream away the chaff early in the game, before collapsing his flanks with the Terrorgheist/Zombie Dragon/Blood Knights.

The mid-board was a grinding melee that was very back and forth until he broke through a skeleton unit, and I ran down another unit.

I managed to catch up to the unit that broke through, but couldn’t quite finish it off. It was worth ~1,000pts too!

Lost two Dire Wolf units and a skeleton block. Killed a mournfang unit, two dog units, two leadbelcher units, and one of the Ogre Bull units in return!

Completed my converted Wight Lord Battle Standard Bearer for my Vampire Counts army! Taken the banner from the Craventhorne Guard set from , the body from the Vampire Lord kit, and the head from the Grave Guard kit!

Trust the process! The wonderful Stig had the idea after seeing one of my WIP shots for this Castigator that I should post this WIP shot alongside the completed model.

Anyone who posts pictures of painted minis probably spends quite a lot of time trying to capture the model at its best angle, with the best lighting, and only after you’re really happy with how it has come out. This can give the impression your stunning mini has just popped out of thin air!

In reality though, the finished mini is only a tiny fraction of all the effort that it takes to get to that point. There are so many steps along the way that we don’t post/talk about in great depth. These steps are so important, especially the ones that temporarily make the mini look like a total disaster (as in my example!).

If you’re a newer painter, or someone who doesn’t quite take to this side of the hobby, please rest assured that even the best of us (and I’m certainly not one of them!) wobble along the road. Just remember to and it’ll all come together. ❤️

The doors close on another incredible weekend of 40K. The Saffron Walden GT has come to an end, and what an end!

Forty top, top gamers came along to this old medieval town here in Essex and took part in five games of intense, competitive play to decide who was officially the best gamer on Earth…

…who am I kidding, this was the Saffron Slam baby! We do things a little differently! Gone are the ‘balanced’ maps of symmetrical terrain! Gone is the highly competitive atmosphere! And gone is any pretence that this hobby is for anything other than having an absolute blast!

Our players come here knowing that they’re in for a weekend of entertainment that transcends the game in front of them. It’s a weekend where friendships are forged and rebuilt (or lost as the feuds between 6 Plus Plus Gaming and Warmasters and Team Redacted have sadly intensified to where all out war is inevitable…), a weekend where people dance to banging tunes whilst they play, and a weekend where others burn their own home objectives to win more toy soldiers to feed into the meat grinder of war!

Thanks to everyone who came this weekend to make this another special one. Congratulations to Luke for taking the win this time, a huge shout out to Hannah for winning ‘Best Army’ at her first ever event, and a big well done to big Sam for being voted the Most Sporting Opponent (ironically the hardest award to win at one of these events)!

The Saffron Walden GT kicks off in four days time! Forty players from across the UK will be battling it out for glory this weekend.

Here's a breakdown of the Factions represented! Strong showings from the Grey Knights and Death Guard amongst the pack.
