When your wedding dress is the iconic Idris by , twirling is definitely encouraged!

Ella and Angus had a small, intimate wedding ceremony at the beautiful Furzey Gardens surrounded by stunning scenery, fairy doors and their nearest and dearest.

Throwing tradition out the window, Ella and Angus got ready together and we did their couples photos before their ceremony, exploring the gardens and grounds before their guests arrived, and it was magical. These two have so much fun together and I think it really shows 🧡

Having a beach pre-wedding photoshoot doesn't need to be sunny...

I loved this misty, moody atmosphere for Lucy & Kieran at Highcliffe Beach. Having postponed the shoot once due to bad weather, the morning wasn't the soft golden sunrise we were hoping for but we embraced the moody vibes instead and had a lot of fun running around and capturing some beautiful moments.

✨ Zara & Oliver - Millbridge Court ✨

Monday was my first wedding of the 2024 season and it couldn't have got off to a better start.

There wasn't a dry eye in the room by the end of their beautiful ceremony, and the happy tears were flowing for this wonderful couple all day. We were so lucky with the weather which was dry and bright so we could do their family portraits and couple photos in the beautiful gardens at Millbridge Court.

After a delicious meal and some amazing speeches, including a poem speech by Zara's dad, the couple had their first dance, followed by everyone joining in with the cha cha slide! Swipe to see how low they could all go! 😂

We even had time to capture a moment of quiet for Zara and Oliver as they practiced their first dance alone together before all their guests joined them on the dancefloor.

It was a stunning day full of so so much love and joy. And it was a dream to be back at Millbridge Court again after a few years - it is such a gorgeous venue with so many amazing spaces so that your day flows smoothly from one area to another, each as elegant and beautiful as the next. I hope I'm back here again soon!

✨ It's my 5th business birthday!!! ✨

5 years ago today I photographed my first ever wedding, and wow have those years flown by!

It's hard to believe that I've taken my little side hustle and turned it into my full time job - even through the chaos that was 2020-2021! But I'm super proud of everything I've done over this time, the hard work I've put in and the wonderful friends I've made in the wedding industry. My work life looks very different now, but I couldn't be happier, and I'm still learning, growing and improving every year.

I just wanted to mark this milestone by giving a big thanks to everyone who has supported me over the last 5 years, my friends and family, lovely husband, my incredible wedding supplier friends (and now I'm sure friends for life) and of course all my amazing couples - and especially Claire and Ed who trusted me to capture their day without having ever done it before! Happy 5th Anniversary you two 😘

I am very aware this is starting to sound like an awkward award acceptance speech now, so thanks if you've stuck through this far!

Looking forward to even more wedding wonderfulness in the years to come 🧡

I've got a confession to make....
..I'm a hoarder. Not in real life (well, a bit, but that's another story!) - a hoarder of wedding images. I've realised looking back on all the amazing weddings I've shot this year how few of them I've shared. Some of my favourite images of 2023 haven't made it on to my grid or my blog yet!

Running your own business is a lot of hard work, and takes up a lot of energy, and I've caught myself thinking 'oh I love this photo but I don't have time to write a really great caption so I'll save it' or 'this wedding was gorgeous! Shall I post some images in a reel or a carousel? Which will the algorithm prefer?' and then get decision fatigue and not post anything 🙄 ridiculous I know.

So, I'm starting here with sharing just 10 images I've loved from 2023 which I haven't posted before, and I'm going into 2024 vowing to start sharing more just for the joy of it, just because they are photos I'm excited to share.

Here's to even more joy in 2024 ✨

It's been a long time since I've taken any maternity photos, but when the mum-to-be is your sister you have to make an exception!!

This day at the beach was chilly and a little grey, but it couldn't have been more special for me to capture this fleeting moment in time for my sister and brother-in-law. And I can't wait to meet my little niece very soon! 😍

So far this year I have been wintering... It's been good to start off the year at a calm, slow pace. I have been pottering around in the office, making tweaks and updates to my website and gently making plans for what I have coming up this year.

From this week, things are starting to pick up. Tomorrow I'm picking up my camera for the first time in 2024 for a styled shoot, with a couple more in the works for the next few weeks too - stretching those creative muscles. I've been having some wonderful calls with couples planning their weddings for this year and next, and I can't wait for more of these this week too. It's always so wonderful hearing everyone's plans and excitement for their wedding day. My first wedding of the year is in February and it will come round in no time! I already can't wait 😍

When Anna and Lee were booking their pre-wedding shoot with me, they wanted it to really feel authentic to them, their relationship and how they love to spend their time together, so they opted to do their shoot at home. I absolutely loved this pre-wedding shoot. It was so much fun spending time with these two, getting to know them and capturing these moments with them. They are full of so much love and joy and there was a lot of laughter!!

I'm always up for doing your pre-wedding shoot somewhere that's personal and means something to you. It makes the images we create unique and gives me a wonderful insight into your relationship which can help me craft photos which show off your love and connection on your wedding day too.

It's that time of year where it feels like I should be winding down after a wonderfully busy summer season, and while I've only got one more lovely wedding to shoot this month, I am up to my ears in editing all the amazing weddings I was privileged enough to capture this summer.

With this weekend's wedding just around the corner, I'm doing my best to manifest some breathtaking summer weather and an epic golden hour! 🤞🤞🤞 I think we've all had enough of July's rain!

All this wishing reminded me of Karl and Nikki's warm and sunny May wedding, where the golden hour was nothing short of magical!

Karl and Nikki's special day was blessed with clear blue skies, a gentle breeze, and the warmth of the sun's rays. From the emotional vows to the joyous celebrations, it was a day filled with love and laughter. With an outdoor ceremony with views over the fields followed by a bouncy slide and lazer clay pigeon shooting, everyone was kept well entertained throughout the day.

But that epic golden hour! 🧡🧡🧡 It was like nature decided to give us a spectacular show. The sky turned into a masterpiece, with shades of gold casting a magical glow over everything.✨

Well, if there was ever a bandwagon I would be guaranteed to jump on it would be this one - it's National Dog Photography Day! Dogs are the absolute best, you can't argue with me on this point!

But what if it rains??☔

As a wedding photographer, I've seen my fair share of rainy wedding days, but I have to say, there's something truly magical about embracing the rain and making the most of it. And that's exactly what Ellie and Rob did on their wedding day at the Two Woods Estate.

Despite the rain pouring down, they didn't let it dampen their spirits. Instead, they embraced the weather and went ahead with their outdoor ceremony among the stunning redwood trees. It was a truly magical moment, and the rain only added to the cosy and intimate atmosphere.

And let me tell you, taking their couple photos was one of my favourite parts of the day. We had so much fun playing around with a clear umbrella, and the raindrops made for some seriously romantic shots.

Ellie and Rob's wedding day was a true testament to the power of embracing the unexpected and making the most of every moment. It was relaxed, cosy, and filled with love, which is exactly what a wedding day should be all about.
