STUARTFIELD BUTCHER WINS AWARD

A butcher shop in Stuartfield has won a Scottish National Award.

In a new award from Scottish Craft Butchers, customers across the country were asked to nominate in the “Love Your Local Butcher” Award Category.

A £100 voucher to spend in the nominated shop was a prize up for grabs to the lucky winner who nominated the prize winning butcher.

The category received over 900 entries, with the winning nominator being Fiona Wallace.

The winning butcher shop was Stuartfield’s very own Ewan Morrice Butchers, who also have branches in Mintlaw and Peterhead.

Fiona stated in her nomination:

“Ewan Morrice is a butcher with heart and humour!

“For over 10 years, I have enjoyed his tongue-in-cheek banter that brightens even my worst days.

“I have trusted him for not just the highest quality meats but for his knowledgeable advice and creative suggestions. His award-winning pork sausages are the only ones my girls will eat, and his variety of cuts and flavours like the lamb with black garlic is unmatched. Whether it's advising on the best marinade or offering something new for BBQ season, Ewan always delivers.

“His service goes beyond meat; he builds lasting relationships with his customers. He knows my whole family and even entertains my crazy ideas, like posting sausages to Slovakia! Yes, they were off by the time they got there he did warn me, but I just did not listen!!

“His award-winning pork sausages are the only ones my girls will eat, but when I ask for a bag of 15 instead of the usual 6 or 12, the eye rolls and looks: “awkward or what?” - it’s our running joke!

“Ewan’s variety is amazing, when BBQ season hits (yes, we do get a short summer in Aberdeenshire!), his endless burger options please even my fussy kids. Plus, his selection of glazes and marinades is always unique and never the run-of-the-mill stuff.

“My girls love a trip to Ewan's they never fail to come home with sweets or even black bananas for baking, and his cheeky charm makes every trip to the shop an absolute delight.

“Ewan’s dedication, high quality products, creativity, humour, and warm personality make every visit a joy he is the butcher everyone deserves, but he is MINE! He is truly deserving of this award.

3rd November from 5:30pm at Mineralwell Park, Stonehaven. Fireworks at 7pm.

In addition to the fireworks and bonfire we also have W&H FunFairs to entertain kids large and small.

Mearns FM will be pumping out the tunes🎸

Our Schwenker Grill is the perfect way to cook Bratwurst and our sausages and condiments are imported directly from Germany from award winning butchers. We cater for public events ( fairs and festivals), corporate events, weddings and private parties. If you are looking for something a bit different, a German grill is definitely going to draw in the crowds.
