On Saturday 21st December 2024 I will close my year and take a much needed rest from 23rd December. I am still taking booking for 2025/2026 & 2027 weddings, still operating for zoom calls and site visits and of course available to assist those families that lose a loved one over the coming weeks.

A Celebrant's life is an open book..........Thank you to every person who trusted me in 2024 and to everyone that has booked me so far for the next two years. I could not do it without you.

Pictured is award winning Celebrant Kerrie, who has very kindly donated 4 lots of funeral earnings to Eden Valley Hospice & Jigsaw, Cumbria's Children's Hospice

Kerrie quoted; "to be honest this next few months will be a big struggle as the wedding season comes to a bit of a standstill BUT..... I have seen for myself on so many occasions just how wonderful and necessary this hospice is. The staff are incredible, the facilities offer such comfort and stimulation to those in their final days and the care given to those in need and their families is second to none. I can only hope that I myself never need their services but firmly believe we need to support them "

David & James booked a super cool venue in the heart of Manchester and a really cool photographer to capture their downright amazing wedding!

This was a really great experience for me as I hadn’t really had any ‘city chic’ wedding ceremonies when I delivered this, and certainly hadn’t been to a venue like that before.

The role of an independent celebrant can make a huge difference to families when they are facing the loss of a loved one and sadly, maybe the not so loved ones too.

Not everyone has had great relationships with those they have lost and it can feel overwhelming to think of the ceremony element where expectation, guilt and many, many other emotions are fiercely present and often take over.

As a Celebrant, I can sit with you and just hold a safe, confidential space with you and we will come up with appropriate ways to get you through the day of the funeral when it comes, taking into account the wishes of all if need be.

You do not have to have a template funeral - no one does.

Quick update should anyone be interested ❤️

I have decided to donate the last 4 funeral earnings to this wonderful cause and become a supporter of Eden Valley Hospice. It is not because I earn a lot from my work, quite the contrary and to be honest this next few months will be a big struggle as the wedding season comes to a bit of a standstill BUT..... I have seen for myself on so many occasions just how wonderful and necessary this hospice is. The staff are incredible, the facilities offer such comfort and stimulation to those in their final days and the care given to those in need and their families is second to none. I can only hope that I myself never need their services but firmly believe we need to support them as government funding just doesn’t cut it. The countdown to a fitter me before the mince pie binge begins! (I cannot resist mince pies) In my role as a Celebrant, I spend an awful lot of time sitting. Sitting in my car, sitting at my desk and sitting with families / couples. I’m naturally an active person who carries a lot of energy (yours and mine) and sometimes there just isn’t time for any set exercise regime as workload varies from zero to hundred depending on what is happening out there. The hours we work are all over the place and I rather love that about my work - just being there and ready for when a family or couple need me but in order to stay on top of that I must find ways to incorporate movement into my life wherever I can. So, the step through bike with basket might have me looking a bit ‘wicked witch of the north west’ but it’s perfect when dressed for a ceremony or service - I can’t turn up on my mountain bike or racer now can I ?? 🙈😂 #movemore #birdsandbeescelebrant #cyclingcelebrant #adventurecelebrant #thisismywork #carlislecelebrant

So.....Let me tell you ‘bout The Birds & The Bees’.....

After many years travelling this amazing world with my Husband and Son I have decided to follow my dreams and set out on my journey as a UK trained Wedding & Family Celebrant here in the U.A.E.

I love people ! There is no getting away from the sheer indulgence of meeting people and hearing all about their stories and experiences and their unique take on life itself.

Having lived in over 9 Countries myself, the diversity of cultures and beliefs that come together under that beautiful umbrella called Love has inspired me to follow my dream and help people create ceremonies to celebrate occasions such as Weddings, Vow Renewals, Commitment Ceremonies and Naming Ceremonies.

The Birds & The Bees is my own creation based upon how similar the two tiny creatures on this planet work. They work tirelessly to achieve a very similar role - a bit like two people joined together who commit to their futures together. Relationships and Marriage take work and there is nothing more rewarding than looking back over the years at how you change and blossom, just like nature itself.
