which leads me to share some exciting news as we enter 2025:
kent and i will be expecting our first baby in march 🥰
i’ve been a little mia lately, listening to my body and preparing our home as we enter this new stage in life. i will be on mat leave until i’m ready to return, which means my books will be closed for at least the first half of the year 🤍

i know it may seem intimidating at first, but i promise floral arranging is just as fun and as easy as cooking 🧑🏼🍳
you have a recipe and you have a general order to follow before mixing everything up —
🌸 recipe and order: base, focal, bits
1️⃣ for my base, i love minimal greenery with some sort of filler. right now i’m obsessed with the deep dark hues of plum foliage. in this video i also used andrea pom pom mums to fill the base with a little texture.
2️⃣ for my focal, i always try to use some sort of large flower in the front that we consider the “show stopper.” for this arrangement, i used a couple of gorgeous white calla lilies the size of my hand. they were the perfect contrast to my base!
3️⃣ lastly for my bits (i’m still working on this name lol), i like to consider this category as all my other flowers that are heavvvy on texture and height. i absolutely love using carnations and tulips here since they add so much depth! for this arrangement in particular, i used smaller cream garden roses and flexed peony tulips.
