A chat with industry leaders on the new frontiers of production? We're in! 🚀
Today we participated in a panel discussion with colleagues from L-Acoustics, Celestial Drones and AVA.
We explored the future of production — from live music, to sound, drones, and festivals and conferences — and agreed that events are becoming increasingly innovative, interactive and immersive. The ticket is to create experiences that elicit a genuine emotional response and are deeply memorable.
We loved hearing some of their predictions for the year ahead:
💫 New technologies are going to be essential for meeting the high expectations artists and audiences have for live music environments.
🔊 We're going to see a move away from frontal sound systems – spatialised sound is here to stay. (We couldn't agree more!)
💃 Audiences are going to want to engage with artists in different ways – they want access to the artistry behind the music.
💡 Those who innovate and drive change are going to stand out from the rest.

The innovative designs of the Polygon stage created by French art collective Visual System are thoughtfully engineered with precision in mind. This particular design features a circular spiral structure, composed of over 1,000 LED tube lights, that once lit allows for breathtaking light movements. When perfectly synced to the sounds in the space by the lighting engineers, the experience entrances you and connects you to the moment and the space around you.

We have lift-off. 🚀 After months of planning and designing, weeks of building and rigging, and days of fine-tuning and perfecting, we finally launched our spaceship into the stratosphere at Wonderfruit last night.
We loved seeing you get down to the sweet sounds of Kaho, Rammö, Keimo, Monkyman, Flave, Anja Bang and Ground. We loved watching you marvel as the music moved around you, and seeing your awe-struck faces under the Polygon lights was nothing short of magical. Your joy and energy mirrored our own excitement. It made our heart sing. It feels so good to be back.
And that was only night one.

Standing inside the Polygon stage is a pretty surreal experience. With just one week until we meet inside the Polygon, we've put together a few tips to help you make the most of your time inside our spaceship. This is one to save for later. 🚀🔊
▪️ Be present. Pay attention. Take a moment to appreciate what you’re seeing and hearing.
▪️ Look around at the speakers. Notice where they’re placed and listen to what they’re playing. Can you separate the sounds coming from each one?
▪️ Look up at the lights. There’s over 1km of synchronised LED lighting moving above you. Notice how they move and change with the music.
▪️ Close your eyes. Individual elements of every track are moving – feel it.
▪️ Stand in the centre. All the speakers are pointing at you from an equal distance – it’s the ultimate experience.
▪️ Move around as well. Listen to how things change depending on where you’re standing.
▪️ Let go. Lose yourself in the music.
▪️ Dance. Dance And dance some more.

We’re enhancing your Polygon experience at Wonderfruit! This year, for the very first time, we're experimenting with adding speakers that will extend the sonic panorama created by performers at Wonderfruit Festival in Thailand using L-ISA technology from L-Acoustics. The result? More people will be enveloped in the spatialised mix and enjoy an immersive audio experience. While the heart of the show will still be within the speaker circle, these new additions will extend the sonic magic for audiences.
Our dedicated sound engineers have been working closely alongside the fantastic team over at L-Acoustics to breathe life into this groundbreaking setup, ensuring your experience is nothing short of extraordinary.
Did you know that our sense of smell is our most memorable sense? We can recall smells with greater accuracy than anything we hear, see, taste – even feel. Maybe it's because it's the first sense to develop. We have a fully functioning sense of smell before we're born.
Creators are now using it to design immersive, multisensory spaces that both bring back memories and make the present more memorable.

Just as stereo evolved from mono, so spatial is the next step after stereo, and it’s changing how we experience live events. But how?
Spatial audio mimics how we experience sound naturally – it comes from every direction. In live music, it allows for greater space within the sound, and adds layers of depth, detail, and movement. It also means artists can be even more creative in how they think aboutand produce their music, and audiences can become active listeners, enjoying andexploring the soundscapes as a journey.

We're looking for volunteers to add to our loving and talented community. As a volunteer you will be helping with the construction and beautification of the stage and the chill our area.
By volunteering you'll secure a 5-Day Full Pass to Wonderfruit, including food and transport to and from the site.
Volunteering dates can start as early as 7.12 and end 14.12.
