Still haven't recovered from this wedding...never will!

Last Veterans Day, I got the honor to capture Heather and Austin's wedding! It was (and still is) probably my favorite wedding to date because it was so special for me!

For starters, it was on Veterans day, and it was a fun way to celebrate all the vets in the room. The groom, all the groomsmen, and others

Second, it was at Showalter's Orchard, which will forever and always hold a special place in my heart

And thrid, Heather and Austin 😍 like must I say more?!

So with this I say happy Veterans day to all who have served and especially those I've gotten the privilege of taking photos for!

I am so very behind on sharing things I've been shooting and delivering this busy season...not because I don't love you all, but because we be busyyyyyy over here.

So I felt like today was a good day to share the Benner fam!

These are my "adventure friends." I've known them for what feels like forever, but only see them like twice a year...and typically it's on some mountain with a snowboard in hand.

Another night spent with another of my favorite little families!!

Goodness gracious, watching this little boy grow has been so fun!

I'd say we're almost friends...he still hates being held, but will smile at me if I'm at a distance. He's just making me work to show my love, but one look at that face makes it worth the effort!

Facebook is where it all started...

For Jake and Kaitlyn AND for me and Jake and Kaitlyn

Let me explain...

Last year, I had a wedding out in Idaho and I planned on swinging over to the Tetons in Wyoming to hike. While I was planning the trip, I kept thinking that it would be great if I could find a couple to photograph while in Wyoming

I'm in a whole bunch of travel groups for places I love (Wyoming being one of them) and on one random day, Kaitlyn posted looking for hiking recommendations for the dates I was going to be there

So, like the normal person that I am, I creeped on her Facebook and concluded she didn't seem dangerous and slid into her dms to ask if I could convince her and Jake to do a photo session. She said yes! He messaged me sepererately and told me he was going to propose and asked if that was okay. I said yes!

And well, here we are. Their wedding day in Arkansas!

It was truly a magical and dreamy day! A day surrounded in so much prayer, full of delicious food, and a whole lot of joy!

I am so thankful last year I took a chance and sent that message to Kaitlyn! Jake and Kaitlyn are some of the nicest people I have ever met. I felt like we've been friends for years!

I'm so excited for the small role I play on their wedding day and can't wait to see them step into marriage!

It all started with a New Years Eve kiss…

And on Saturday, they started a new chapter with a kiss

World, let me introduce you to Mr and Mrs Hoenstine!

They are the sweetest and kindest of people. Full of smiles and goodness and joy! All the things I pray over their marriage for all the years to come!

At one point on Saturday, I asked Temma what her favorite thing about Doak was. She told me she loved that he was pure in everything that he did and that he had the most gorgeous eyes.

While he does have really pretty eyes, it was the other part of her answer that stood out to me

And I got to witness it firsthand. He was pure to the core when it came to Temma. Pure in his love of her.

I think that just needs to be a testament to someone out there waiting. Wait for a love that’s pure. That’s true. That will stand beside you. And that is so much fun and makes your face hurt from smiling so much.

I booked my very first wedding for $500

I will never forget it. It was a Monday afternoon, 5 minutes from my house, and a very small intimate wedding. I was terrified out of my mind, and I drug my best friend there with me because I didn't want to go alone.

At the time, I had no intention or real desire to pursue wedding photography. I only said yes because I was a poor college student, and the money sounded nice.

That year, I shot 3 weddings. All for $500.

Little did I know that almost 10 years later, I would be a full-time wedding photographer, living out my biggest dreams and doing what I love most.

I've been reflecting on this this weekend because this past week alone, I sent out 2 contracts for weddings that were over 10x what I charged for those first 3.

I've prayed and prayed over this business.
I've surrendered it to Jesus more times than I can count.
I've walked through slow seasons and no seasons.
I've debated getting another job.
I've questioned if it's worth it.

But then I look back on where I've come from. I look at what I've built from the ground up.

And I'm humbled and amazed.

Not at what I've built, but what God has built through me.

This wasn't initially my dream. It was God's dream for me. It was a door that opened (and continues to open) because I keep saying yes to what God lays on my heart.

Nothing has ever grown or shaped me and my faith quite like this baby of mine. It's wild.

And I'm just thankful that I get to do this for a living! I'm thankful that you're here and you trust me with your memories!

Yesterday I was living a real life DREAM! ✨️

I fell in love with Glacier years ago. Anyone who knows me knows that. Like if you never visited this national park add it to your list. It will ruin all other national parks for you though, so be warned.

And I’ve been dreaming of the day I’d get to shoot an elopement here!

So, when Blair and Damien reached out about eloping here I quite literally squealed!

This day has been a year in the making and to actually get to live it yesterday was incredible!

Truly a dream fulfilled! It was PERFECT!

We had such a fun day. Blair and Damien took their time getting ready, signed the marriage license where I technically officiated the wedding, and then we all drove to Glacier and explored the beauty. I couldn’t asked for more!

Oh, and yesterday was their anniversary!! Now it’s their wedding anni! How sweet is that?! 🥺

Yesterday couldn't have been more gorgeous or sweet if they tried! From the cute babies to one of my favorite families to the beautiful venue...it was textbook perfection!
