We are changing our name to Cortez Contra Dance although we will continue to have a waltz and some circles/squares.

Hello dancing friends!!

The Durango contra dance series continues this month at Stillwater Music. We'll be dancing on Saturday night, November 16.

This month we will be dancing to Tom Ward's Downfall featuring Ed Webb, Ari Schermer, Danna Manganaro and Erick Morningstar. The dances will be taught and called by Deb Comly.

The evening's activities are suitable for dancers of all levels. No partner is needed! These fun and friendly dances are all taught and called so there's no experience needed. And every dance is danced to live music. 🎶🎻🎵Just grab your dancing shoes, your water bottle, a friend or two (or three or four...) and head on over to Stillwater Music this Saturday, October 19! Why We Do What We Do

This page is part of a vision to bring live music and accessible folk dance to the community of Montezuma County, it’s visitors and beyond. We are a new contra group and we will always have a waltz and sometimes some circles and squares tossed in. Through this page we hope to hear about the needs of the community to make this THEIR dance. Envisioning lots of people on a first name basis, dancing with one another, sharing music, movement, joy and food while welcoming newcomers of all ages.
