The Millheim Ramble

Last summer, Penns Valley braced for what was billed as a festival to rival the likes of Bonarroo and Coachella. Unfortunately, plans fell through but at the last minute Elk Creek and local musicians joined forces for an impromptu concert to celebrate local music, craft beer and community.

Those who paid witness to the collaborative magic understood something was born that day in Millheim. The realized the rolling farm lands of central Pennsylvania were the perfect landscape for a music festival and the community was ready.

So this year we’re doing it again—bigger and better. We’re bringing together musicians, craft beer, local food and community once again for the inaugural Millheim Ramble at Elk Creek from 1-8pm on Saturday, July 28, on the Millheim Fire Company grounds.

Come see the region’s most popular bands perform in beautiful Penns Valley. Hang with friends. Drink craft beer and eat local fare!

Festival Lineup:

Mulebone Mulebone is multi-instrumentalist, John Ragusa and roots music specialist, Hugh Pool. The grist for their mill is traditional blues. They play slide guitar boogies, 1 chord trance riffs a la Howlin Wolf the uptempo rags of Reverend Gary Davis and country blues of all shapes and colors.

Ted McCloskey & The Hifi’s Ra**ch and roll brawlers, acoustic bawlers, and post-punk underground howlers. It’s only rock n' roll! Nasty, loud, sinewy rock n' roll that makes your ears burn and your legs jittery.

Pure Cane Sugar Since 2006, the sultry voices, soulful harmonies, and powerful lyrics of the Pure Cane Sugar girls, Kate and Nat, have evoked exquisite vocals. With rooted accompanying artists Daryl Branford on drums, Brian Cleary on guitar and Bob Hart on bass, their original, artful arrangements are captured on a backdrop of textured synergy and rhythm.

Eric Ian Farmer An amazing folksinger/songwriter, Eric writes about relationships, social awareness, and finding one's path in life while keeping alive classics by artists like Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, and Bob Marley. Eric learned how to become one with a song from the singers in the church of his childhood in Danville, Virginia.

The Crooked Line Crooked Line pushes the boundaries of American roots music. Armed with bluegrass instruments and a veneration for the vastness and grandiosity of traditional American music, this central Pennsylvania-based band has quickly become a crowd favorite around the region. The music is decidedly original, whether performing their own compositions or rollicking through the guts of American sounds.
