Rerun has been at home behind a set of decks since mid 2001. Absolutely dedicated from day one he spent every penny of his student income on records and staying up to date with the fast moving pace of the early 00’s UK Drum & Bass sound. He very quickly began organizing parties and drawing together other DJ’s form the local area aiming to reproduce the vibe he had experienced in the London rave sc
ene at events like Jungle Splash, United Dance, Jungle Fever and One Nation. Completely self-taught up till this point, he picked up the majority of his mixing knowledge from listening to tape packs and sneaking in to the DJ booth at London raves. Observing masters as Kenny Ken, Nicky Blackmarket, Randal and Hype execute mixes and set off the dance. Watching the reaction from the crowd from the stage, which only fueled his determination to develop. In 2003 Rerun went on to study DJ skills on a unique diploma course run at one of the UK’s leading music academies. He received tuition and training from industry professionals including various World DMC champions/contenders, lable owners, and international career DJ’s such as Carl Tuff-Enough Brown and the legendary Jazzy Jeff. Turntables were treated as a musical instrument in their own right and he was schooled in the science, art and theory of mixing and turntablism to further refine his understanding and technique. Passing his diploma with a distinction Louis later went on to convert this in to a BA degree in music production and sound engineering. Although a Junglist at heart, Rerun has branched out in to other genres over the years to develop his mixing and is capable of diversifying to cover as vast range of BPM and styles. Jumping from Hip Hop to Reggae/Dub, Glitch, Breaks, Old School, House, Bassline, Garage, Dubstep, Drum & Bass and beyond. Time spent working in the studio and the live arena as a sound technician and engineer have increased his understanding of sonic delivery and the science of sound. Obsessed with delivering the perfect drop every time and demanding surgical precision he has continued to hone his skills and takes pride in every set he plays, treating each venue and crowd with the same care and attention regardless of size.
