Circa ‘94 Promotions/London Stone

Oi Oi! So I thought it was about time I got involved in the music community in different ways other than being a “band guy”... Well here it is, ‘Circa ‘94 Promotions’...

Totally inspired by a local pub/venue that was once called The Hobgoblin (Staines) which would be the basis for many, many, silly silly, naughty naughty, messy messy nights along with getting to see (and perform myself) some great bands during my mid to late 20’s. The Hob was more than a venue or a pub... it was pretty much a family in the golden years... And A big one too. The Hobgoblin put on some great shows along the way, legendary all dayers featuring bands like Arcane Roots, fiN. Bloodloss, The Wonder Beers, Darko, Beyond Reasonable Doubt, Floors and Walls, Over And Out, Trails and many many more - not only this but they also managed to fit Staines Leg-ends Hard-Fi in on a night that almost got the place shut down for good due to the sheer amount of people attempting to get a glimpse of the Stadium sized ‘Cash Machine’ Hero’s turning out in what was many people’s “Local”. Unfortunately things came to a halt after a well intentioned “face lift” came with a new name, and a new goal. London Stone arrived as the Stella’s, Strongbows and Newc-ey Brown Ale’s were traded in for World Beers, Hops and Erdingers. And along with the former, went the bands too. London Stone has changed hands a few times since it’s initial refurb and introduction, it got so far away from what it was that the fu***ng Weatherspoon became my new local! BUT. Fear not my friends... finally, it looks like we might be getting something very close to what we had at the Hobgoblin once again.. In fact it’s looking like the new manager is taking things very seriously and wants to give Staines something to talk about once again - And this is something i’m passionate about and want to be involved with as much as possible. My goal is to bring the bands I know and love to Staines, to create the best line up’s at each show, with bands compliment each other but also get people talking - create a buzz again. I’m pleased to announce my first night in conjunction with London Stone will be July 7th with Hobgoblin Hero’s The Lagan headlining, with Blood and Whiskey and Filthy Militia in support. I’m looking forward to helping London Stone achieve their goal bringing the family home again... Thanks for reading!
