Another year of being completely obsessed with sweet peas, and what a year it was! We grew and documented over 50 varieties, fell in love with so many and added 26 of our very favourites to the seed shop.

Next year is even bigger, another polytunnel, even more varieties to grow. We’re currently at 124! Again, we’ll be documenting all of them and we’re currently working out the best way for you to access that. Then, in September, our favourite discoveries will make there way on to our seed shop.

Nasturtium ‘Tip Top Apricot’. My love of nasturtiums has grown hugely over the past year. They are just so cute! We’ve started underplanting the roses with the dwarf varieties and they both thrive!

The many shades of ‘King’s Ransom’ 👑

I’ve been sat at the kitchen table today counting out and packing up this year’s sweet pea seeds. The packets are stacking up and we’ll be opening the seed shop on the 14th September. Make sure to sign up to our newsletter to receive a password which will give you 24 hours early access 🤍

Our sweet pea seed harvest starts this week! Our autumn sown sweet peas have been setting seed for the past few weeks and the first of these that have reached the ‘crispy pod’ stage will be harvested by us, by hand, and put in to mesh bags to fully dry. Later in August we’ll then count the seeds and pop in to our envelopes ready for September. This is such an exciting time of the year for us!

A morning well spent at 🤍 Getting an insight in to how they produce their seeds and getting to see the new trials was just the most exciting morning. Added to that, a trip to jam museum on the way home made for a perfect day!

Moments from the new garden 🤍

Our new garden is east facing but with a very high bank of established trees. We have shade in the mornings and evenings with sun during the middle of the day and I’m really enjoying embracing that. So many corners for our hostas, ferns and acers. Leaning in to the greens with a few moments of whites, creams and pale yellows.

It’s a good size garden but mostly paved so there’s space for even more containers and pots!

A work in progress but I’m so happy with it so far, almost feels like a secluded city garden even though we are very much in the countryside!

BRB, off to research how to breed violas 🤓

The babies of last years ‘Brushstrokes’ and ‘Tiger Eye Red’ violas in the .proust are sending up some absolutely incredible flowers!

Violas have my heart 💫 These are 2nd generation ‘Brushstrokes’ and ‘Tiger Eye Red’. Last year we grew these at the base of our sweet peas in our polytunnel and I’ve never seen such happy, healthy and tall violas. This year all the self-seeded babies are giving us the biggest amount of joy every time we spot a new one flowering.

We’ve restocked our website with Viola ‘Brushstrokes’. There is a link in my bio if you’d like to grow these wonderful flowers this year too 🤍
