A busy week this week out at the theatre again for this amazing production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Love Never Dies
The story follows the journey of the Phantom - 10 years after the events at the Opera House and is a musical not to be missed

Over in Burton today for the wedding if Viccie and Philip - love the Pavilion as a venue - nicely self contained and some lovely shooting areas outside. Let’s hope the weather stays dry for the happy couple

Bit of "behind the scenes" theatre work this week for the upcoming production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Love Never Dies at the Wolverhampton Grand in May
This will be the first time this has been produced in the UK outside of the West End and promises to be a fabulous production - cant wait to shoot the final stage version in a few weeks

Down at the beautiful Ansty Hall today for the wedding of Sarah and Nick.
Bright and windy at the moment - fingers crossed the weather holds out.
Not as nice as last time we here……( definitely does not look like the image below today )

Out doing a bit of theatre stuff again this week - down at the Artrix theatre in Bromsgrove. Fab production of "Crazy for You" by Knowle Operatic Society - away from their normal home at the Core because of issues with the concrete in the building.
Didn't detract from the show though and great to see a unique projection backdrop used - challenged us a bit with the cameras, but used to great effect for the production
Still 3 performances left this week if you want to grab a good show

A busy weekend of wedding consultations and editing.......quite pleased at that when the weather has been so hit and miss
Starting to get into the busy season now with Easter upon us. Do still have a handful of gaps for key dates over the summer, but very much booking for the 2025 season now

Lovely wedding this week of the wedding of Laura and Luke at the beautiful Shustoke Barn. Weather was a bit wet and wild but we managed to get some lovely photos on the day. Loved this idea though for an order of service

As well as weddings, we do get engaged for a lot of party's and balls
As well as doing general candid photos, we do have a set up we can use to capture more staged photos. Its very similar to what we can use on wedding evenings if guests want it

After a busy weekend of shooting and editing - nice a to get a request this morning to do some training
When we used to have the full time studio, used to run a range of courses from basic camera introduction to more high end studio lighting and techniques
Better dig some of my old course notes out and drag out some of my old demo images on depth of field, perspective, framing, lighting etc....

From capturing the cake, the first dance, father daughter dance to the general enjoyment of the wedding party
Out at Oak Farm tonight in Cannock to capture just an evening function for a couple who have just got married abroad and now want to spend some time celebrating with their wider family and friends

Just booked a couple of weddings in this week at one of our regular venues Moor Hall in Sutton Coldfield.
Such a beautiful venue and pleased to have worked with so closely over the years
On a day that i seem to recall wasn't the greatest weather, the Sunken Garden still provided a lovely secluded backdrop for the images
Looking forward to shooting their again in the summer

Having been doing this now for some 26 years - people often ask about things that "stand out" from wedding days, that make them memorable to us in years to come
This particular wedding at Uttoxeter racecourse was one of those. The venue itself was brilliant, but on their particular day - a balloon festival was going on at the same time - far too good an opportunity to miss.
Cant believe that they actually let us go inside a balloon to get some photos

In a way, this is where we first started doing headshots for theatre companies and covering the shows whilst also doing corporate events and website work
The weddings was never intended to be out main business - but here we are some 26 years later and over 2,500 weddings shot in that time

Always lovely when a client reaches out after 7 years since their wedding as a "long shot" as they've lost one of their wedding disks and we are able to put their mind at rest straight away
As a business we keep backups - both cloud and archive of every photo shoot we've ever done - from the very first days of digital - some what 14/15 years ago now when we first switched over
That peace of mind for both us and the client, knowing we can recover their images within 24 hours and get a fresh set over to them
Whats more amusing then looking through some of the photos after all this time and seeing some of our evening studio images - a fun way to get some great photos in the the evening as an alternative to a photo booth / photo mirror - which are the current trends
Gutted that i lost that freaky mask somewhere down the line on a wedding day.............

While a lot of the focus on the morning of a wedding day is on the bride, its also important to capture the men as they arrive and some of the detail that goes with it
As most of our packages are a 2 person shoot, this does give us more flexibility to have one shooter with the men, whilst the other is still with the bride

This fabulous idea came over from the states a few years ago and has really caught on as a way to celebrate your child's first birthday
Whilst most of our clients do tend to be wedding clients, it is open to anybody

For many brides - the bridal prep part of the day is a very important thing for them to have covered. Whilst yes, it is about the getting ready, its also about the detail on the morning
As part of our packages we normally allow 2 hours coverage - from the time the bride needs to leave / be ready for ( 3 hours on our signature packages )
This Saturday we will be attending the wedding fayre at St Johns Church, Walsall Wood Road from 10-2 - come along and see some more examples of our work

What a beautiful summers day this was at one of our regular haunts - Hawkesyard Estate for the wedding of Andrea and Robert. As well as having amazing grounds and stunning building - the addition of the new bridal prep room is a real win for the morning of the big day
