🇧🇩 US-based Bangladeshi boxer Zinnat Ferdous secured a bronze medal at the XIX International Silesian Women’s Boxing Championships in Poland, marking Bangladesh's first medal from the European Boxing Confederation. Held in Gliwice from September 2 to 7, the tournament saw participation from 17 countries, including past Olympic champions. Zinnat, competing in the 52kg weight category, won her quarter-final bout against Hungary's Kata Pap with a unanimous 5-0 decision. She lost the semi-final to Ukraine’s Daria-Olha Hutarina but still secured the bronze. This event was the first women's tournament to abolish headgear following a rule change by the International Boxing Association in June 2024.
