I forgot to take any photos of the food last night but our outdoor dining room was looking so special, it doesn’t really matter! Very nippy outside but a lovely cosy late summer dinner with crab and samphire tart, chicken with wild mushrooms and homegrown veg, followed by fig and almond sponge with fig leaf ice cream and cheese! An excellent way to end a very busy summer of lovely guests.

Saturday was such a gorgeous evening for dinner outside and it was the perfect summery menu to match! Burrata with peaches, basil pine nuts and balsamic; cedar plank grilled salmon with spices and herbs and then a sort of homemade vienetta style parfait with a bit of limoncello 🍋

Our first spring supper of the year last night with some of our most lovely loyal customers, and some new ones!! Bit chilly to be outside yet but it was a gorgeous spring menu including lots of lovely seasonal wild garlic, asparagus, spring onions, peas and rhubarb. Looking forward to booking lots of you in over the next few months

Wild garlic season is such a treat and what a better way to make the most of it than to make a fabulous garlic bread! We started with a gorgeous sourdough loaf by softened up some butter, and mixed in salt and an enormous handful or 2 of fresh chopped garlic leaves, blanched very quickly to get rid of any nasties, and then baked until the butter had melted and the top was crisp!

Now off to make lots more garlic butter to stock up in the freezer!

Today’s vegan brunch for a lovely group of yogis at fabulous retreat.

Smoky tomatoes and beans with a sweetcorn fritter, sun dried tomato and coriander guacamole and cornbread. For pudding I made spiced rice pudding with blueberry, chia and lemon compote and little lemon shortbreads.

I loved doing last weekend’s Moroccan takeaway dinner for 10 people who were celebrating a special birthday. Butternut and Harissa houmous, saffron rice and herb salad, kofta kebabs made with lamb, beef and loads of spices. Caramelised onion and aubergine tagine and a carrot and chickpea salad which was served with gooey melted baked halloumi with Harissa and honey!

I was lucky enough to be asked to cater Spring Refresh retreat day at beautiful today. Lots of fresh flavours - raspberry maca energy balls, turmeric and spinach fritters, lemon and pea houmous, bulger wheat and couscous with herbs and pomegranate, charred spring onions with hazelnuts and lime, and a beautiful spring salad. Followed by chocolate brownies, rhubarb compote and coconut cream.
