Bala Roots is a dynamic musical quartet that draws on influences from West Africa, Cuba, and the music from New Orleans. This group of musical veterans has come together to produce exciting versions of traditional roots music. They infuse and arrange songs with psychedelic, reggae, and flamenco influences, sharing their love of music from around the world in each performance.

Featuring Brian Tyndall of The Mantras, they're sweet and smooth sounds will comfort your soul as our Sunday Exit Music!

Today's Mantrabash Spotlight is on Artist at Large, Drummer for Big Something, Ben Vinograd!! Please welcome Ben to The MB Family!!

"While studying music at Catawba college in 2011 Ben met up with Nick MacDaniels to join the band Big Something. Since then he has played drums with the group on 6 studio albums and thousands of live shows across the country. He is also involved with saxophone player Casey Cranford's project 'Casey and the Comrades', recording 1 studio album and playing live as well. He has brown hair and hazel eyes and is a little self conscious about his smile but his wife says that it is cute"

Welcome Mono Means One to MANTRABASH - Nov. 7-9th - Possum Holler, NC!!

Today's Mantrabash Spotlight is on Mono Means One!!

Mono Means One is a psychedelic prog trio and the brainchild of bassist and composer John Ferrara, best known as the bass player and co-founder of the acclaimed world fusion band “Consider the Source.”

Mono Means One’s sound contains melancholic melodies, rich sonic textures with Drum 'N’ Bass grooves and Mathrock sensibilities. Half composed and half improvised, the music is often dark, sometimes bright and other times heavy, oscillating between chill grooves to almost unbearable intensity. Originally composed entirely on the bass guitar, John paired up with Rob Madore (Drums) and Isaac Young (Keys), of Connecticut's amazing PX3 to borrow some of their “Futuristic Synth-Driven Madness” to help bring layers and textures to these compositions that fill rooms across the Northeast.

Today's Mantrabash spotlight is on Randy's Army!!

Randy’s Army is an amalgamation of musical styles, organized, and presented in the form of experimental/fusion/rock. Playing the music from groups such as; Mahavishnu Orchestra, Jeff Beck, King Crimson, and more. Included is Jason Burch (drums), Jonathon Sale (bass), Chris Pope (keys), William Trentini (guitar), and Bradley Turner (guitar).

Formed in Boone, NC, Come show this WNC originating band some love!

We will be holding a merch raffle and collecting appropriate donations onsite, Help support our WNC family! (All proceeds go to BeLoved Asheville)

Council Ring is a 5-piece, psychedelic rock/jam band from Charlotte, NC who has been compared to groups like Pink Floyd, The Grateful Dead, and Phish.
