I kicked off wedding season yesterday by shooting for my amazingly talented bestie , celebrating Amanda and Buck in Perry, GA. Just two more wedding-less weekends before the real craziness begins—I’m booked solid with weddings every single Saturday from March 8th thru June 28th, along with a few weekday and Sunday weddings sprinkled in. This will be the busiest year yet for Elizabeth Godwin Photography, and yesterday reminded me how much I love what I do and how pumped I am for all that’s to come. What a year this will be!! Bring on the long road trips, fun bridal parties, sore feet, gorgeous venues, packed dance floors, and full memory cards 😍✨

Anna Catherine and Dylan are such an incredibly kind and down-to-earth couple, and we had the best evening exploring the historic estate in Lagrange, Georgia today 🏛️ It was everything I envisioned and more!! Choosing which images to edit for sneak peeks was TOUGH.

I photographed Anna Catherine’s brother’s wedding back in 2021 and I was overjoyed when she asked me to photograph hers too 🥹

I’m way behind where I’d like to be with social media this week because my whole crew has come down with something super nasty. I think it’s cov*d. We are feeling slightly more human this afternoon, so hopefully we are past the worst of it! I’ve responded to all inquiries but I still have to catch up on Instagram and Facebook messages. I used to wish I lived somewhere else. Anywhere else but here in Georgia where I was born and raised. I always dreamed of living in England because I developed an early love for English history, then when I hit my teen years I desperately wanted to see Colorado. I visited Virginia a couple times and fell in love with it. Most anywhere seemed dreamier than Georgia.

Over the last year or so, that’s completely changed for me. Photography has taken me to every corner of the state, shooting on some of the most beautiful estates and parks. I began to see it all with fresh eyes. Now I think there’s nothing so beautiful as the mossy live oaks Georgia is famous for, especially when the hanging Spanish moss catches the sunlight. Georgia has a very diverse landscape: the islands dotted along the east coast, the plantation belt across the south, and the mountains in the foothills of the Smokies. It’s not possible to pick a favorite—they each have so much of their own charm and character.

I have absolutely fallen in love with the great state of Georgia and couldn’t imagine calling anywhere else my home.

You’re buzzing with excited anticipation as the countdown falls below 24 hours until you become husband and wife. Family and friends from out of town have arrived to celebrate with you. Your wedding weekend has finally arrived!

Your rehearsal dinner is a special chance to visit with loved ones, hear speeches that will make you laugh and cry, and welcome those who have traveled far and wide to be with you.

Don’t forget, you’ll want pictures of this event too! 📷

Some of my 2025 wedding packages include rehearsal dinner coverage, but just in case yours didn’t, I do my best to keep the night before my weddings free in case couples decide to add rehearsal dinner coverage later. I provide this on an hourly basis, and usually find that 2 hours of the perfect amount of time.

I can’t get on board with the dutch angle trend, but intentional motion blur (especiallyyy when it’s B&W 🤤) has got me in a chokehold right now. I can’t quite put my finger on why it’s so charming—maybe it feels nostalgic? Raw? Filmesque? Whatever it is, I always sprinkle some of these into every gallery.

I got a camera for my 8th birthday and I’ve been taking photos ever since! At the start of 2019 my sister and I started Sisters Studio Photography together. Since that time I have been privileged to witness some of the most raw, beautiful moments as I’ve captured weddings, births, and everything in between. Now in 2020 I am rebranding as a wedding and family photographer.

I live in Valdosta with my husband of 5 years, James. I homeschool our adventurous tribe of boys--Irish Triplets, all born within a year of one another. We have a cat named Butter who is completely spoiled and a definite member of the family.
