As soon as I got Cody’s initial inquiry and had a phone call with him, I knew this session was going to be something special. He was planning a surprise proposal for his girlfriend of 5 years at the river club where they met and spent many vacations together. He had thought of everything—outfits options, champagne, fairy lights (most guys don’t even know what fairy lights are), music. He even thought to hire a photographer to come out the same weekend and capture their engagement session while they were still in the afterglow of the proposal ✨ I barely had to pose Cody and Erin, I really just followed them around like paparazzi and took pictures of them being adorable. They share the sweetest old soul vibes. And now I guess I’ve found the secret to making an engagement session even more special—schedule it within 24 hours of popping the question 😉💍

It was a gorgeous November evening with these two sweethearts! I swear golden hour gets a little glowier at this time of year. EmilieAnne and Marshall have an old soul classiness about them and we’re so comfortable in front of the camera. November started out on the perfect note with Janie and Wages’ engagement session yesterday evening! It usually takes about 10 minutes for couples to get comfortable in front of the camera, but not these two—they were so perfectly in love and at ease in each other’s presence that it was a breeze right from the start. Janie has such an effortlessly beauty about her and Wages was cracking jokes the entire session and keeping us all laughing. It was such a fun evening and I felt like I had known them for ages.

I am beyond excited to photograph their wedding at next Summer! 🥂✨

Hudson Ryan 💙

What a joy it is when past brides and grooms ask me to photograph their next chapter together. As a mom of four, parenthood is a season I dearly love to capture—I would take on more of these sessions and advertise them if my plate was not so full with weddings and engagements. Maybe one day when I open a studio! 😉

Sweet Hudson was perhaps the easiest newborn I’ve ever photographed, and oh-so handsome with those big blue eyes! And Ryan and Ramie are rocking their new rolls as mom and dad despite the hurdles life has thrown (like hurricane Helene a week after becoming first time parents!! 😵‍💫😩). One thing is for sure, Hudson is one loved little dude!

Happy weekend ✨ No wedding this weekend, but I have five sessions, a consultation, and plenty of editing to keep me busy. Busy season has had me working hard all hours of the night, but I am so very thankful for the business and the many amazing clients who have trusted me to tell their stories. I never dreamt this venture would become as big as it has and I am immensely grateful for all the love and support! There are some exciting upgrades and changes coming soon Elizabeth Godwin Photography to enable me to better serve my amazing couples—I can’t wait to share those with you all soon!

I got a camera for my 8th birthday and I’ve been taking photos ever since! At the start of 2019 my sister and I started Sisters Studio Photography together. Since that time I have been privileged to witness some of the most raw, beautiful moments as I’ve captured weddings, births, and everything in between. Now in 2020 I am rebranding as a wedding and family photographer.

I live in Valdosta with my husband of 5 years, James. I homeschool our adventurous tribe of boys--Irish Triplets, all born within a year of one another. We have a cat named Butter who is completely spoiled and a definite member of the family.
