Tuesday Tip! Don’t keep your fresh flowers near fruit! Ripening fruit (especially tomatoes, bananas, and apples) releases ethylene gas, which can cause flowers to deteriorate.

Ethylene is a colorless, odorless plant growth hormone that regulates the ripening of fruit, flowers, and potted plants. However, it can also cause flowers to age more quickly, and some plants may even drop their flowers, buds, or leaves. 🌸

Tuesday Tip! When it comes to prolonging your arrangements: Some stems will naturally die more quickly than others. As they die, be sure to remove them from your bouquet, as dead stems emit a toxin that will cause the remaining fresh flowers to die. This will extend the life of your arrangement.

“Grief I’ve learned is just love. It’s all the love you want to give but cannot. All of that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.” -Unknown 🌸

Fun fact Friday! Meet the Daffodahlia! A visual mashup of a daffodil and dahlia, this rare flower form was discovered completely by accident. When Kelsey Hall, owner of Cattle & Cut Flowers, came across a unique dahlia form growing on her flower farm in Enumclaw, Washington she was in disbelief. After testing and confirming the rare flower is disease-free, Hall has decided to breed her discovery! We think it’s gorgeous! 💕🌸
