Life After Life
First year donating to , and it feels so special to design this tree in honor of my oldest friend’s daughter Millie .miracle.heart. Millie’s short life was lived inside the walls of hospital, so we pray this donation can help other children and their families who are going through the unimaginable struggle of child illness. This tree represents life after life, the beauty that comes after grief, like a vibrant Spring breaking through bleak Winter. Millie’s life was short, but her legacy is huge and has already affected so many lives.
On this tree, we used a giant bow and lots of little bows because bows were the one cute thing Millie’s could wear, since she was always connected to so many tubes. Ribbon 🎀
Oranges because we used citrus for her parents’s wedding flowers.
🍊
The tree skirt is quilted because Millie’s late grandma was a quilter, and her grandma’s sisters were able to sew the custom stockings. Millie’s aunt also made the bow tree topper.
🧵
Heart ornaments for our brave little heart warrior.
💗
And butterflies because Millie’s favorite toy was a little butterfly. And in the hospital, a butterfly is placed on the door when a child is about to say goodbye. A metamorphosis from pain to an uncaged spirit.
