Eyes open, heart open - this has been my constant mantra on wedding days. Reminding me to seek out and honor all the beautiful, unexpected, powerful moments that will unfold.

Counting down the days until my first wedding of 2023. The slower winter season is always much appreciated as a time to reset and recharge - but more and more, I find myself itching to pack up my gear and be immersed again in the energy of a wedding day 📽️
Something I’ve undoubtedly learned over the years is the necessity of talented and reliable cinematographers on my team. I have a small circle of people I trust to film with me on wedding days, one of which is this absolute gem of a human being - so much so that my family has hired her to film my own sister’s wedding this October. When Regan told me that her grandfather would be serving as the officiant for her and Joe's wedding ceremony, I knew the words he'd share would be the most beautiful and perfect testament to their love. When Sam and I first spoke on the phone and she told me her and Chris's love story, I'm pretty sure I said "Are you SERIOUS?!" These two were childhood friends and grew up playing in the same neighborhood together. She remembers thinking that Chris was cute, but they got older and went their separate ways - until finally, after all these years, they found eachother again and fell in love.
I had the immense honor of capturing all the precious and powerful memories as these two commited to a lifetime together, surrounded by their closest loved ones and their sweet little son CJ.
One thing that resonated with me so strongly was the number of times these two and their families THANKED Ellen Dziubek and I for our work throughout the day. I always know that our couples are appreciative and want them to focus on their own experience, but the fact that everyone went out of their way to personally thank us made my heart overflow and meant more than I can explain. Sam and Chris, it's couples just like you that are the reason why I film weddings. It's stories like yours that make it all worth it.
