Some fun things happening this week at the Cape May County Park/Zoo

STARTING TODAY!! 🎉🥳🐰

Don’t miss our newly extended event, Easter EGGstravaganZOO, beginning today and running through Spring Break week, rain or shine. Play our games in the Zoo: A Scavenger Hunt, I Spy Bunny Hunt, and hop through our “HOPstacle Course”. Saturday Only, March 29th, have your photo taken with the Easter Bunny from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, or join us on Saturday, April 6th for a Princess Meet and Greet from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.

The Zoo is open every day, 10am - 4:30pm!

Always something fun and educational at the Village!

Group Tours at Historic Cold Spring Village!
Bring your group to Historic Cold Spring Village and experience the charm of a 19th-century South Jersey Village. We welcome groups of all sizes and can tailor the tour to your group’s interests.

Village Views Walking Tour, led by an experienced, historically clothed interpreter introduces you to the Village buildings and includes The Welcome Center, Village Country Store, and Cold Spring Brewery. Allow a minimum of 1 ½ hours. If you have more time and interest, additional buildings can be added.

The VIP Sampler Tour adds interaction with Village residents (schoolmaster, innkeeper, housewife, shopkeeper) as historically clothed interpreters greet you in 4 of the Village buildings and discuss their lives and duties.

Group bookings must be arranged no less than 10 days in advance of the visit (2 weeks for VIP Sampler Tour). For more information, or to plan your visit, please contact Barbara Oberholtzer at [email protected].

What: The Cape May Co. Sheriff’s Office will be hosting their annual Tracking & Trailing Seminar.

When: Mon. 3/11 - Fri. 3/15

Where: County-wide!! Every municipality in Cape May County will be utilized at some point during the week.

Why: This recertification training is provided by to several agencies from all over the East Coast.

What to expect: Police cars and officers from PA, NY, NJ, CT, MD & DE in your towns / residential neighborhoods running trails with their K9 partners. They are training, so please don’t interrupt them or be alarmed!

Spread the word to your neighbors who may not have social media and thank you all for your help and understanding. This kind of training is what helps us be ready whenever we are called upon to provide K9 services.

I’m at a coffee shop this morning to work on my book, and asked one of the male baristas if I could put two tables together for a kind of work space. “Sure,” he said, looking at my film camera and computer. “Are you a photographer?” “Yes I am,” I tell him. “I am writing a book, walking from Sandy Hook to Cape May each week, raising mental health awareness.” His eyes light up and he gives me the biggest smile. “That’s awesome!!” And he give me a high five. It’s long been apparent to me how many men struggle with mental illnesses, but so few talk about it. This little encounter will give me fuel for a while as I keep going, walking beaches, taking photos, writing, and editing. Walking beaches, taking photos, writing and editing. Beach after beach. Week after week, for a whole year. This book is my love letter to the Jersey Shore. It is also my hug to every single person who has had ever had to deal with mental health issues. It is for my new barista friend Tom who lights up that another man is taking it head on.

Ok, back to editing. Then Chadwick Beach this afternoon. I have a book to write. 💕📷✍️

Accepting applications until March 1. We are welcoming all local and regional artists and artisan handcrafted items with a coastal flair: painters, photographers, ceramics/ pottery, mosaics, fiber arts/ leather, metalsmith, resin, wood, and small batch cottage industry foods, soaps etc.
This event is being highly advertised with online and print listings in Beach Combing Magazine's calendar of Sea Glass festivals, tourist driven online calendars of events, (when someone googles "things happening in Cape May" this will come up). We are also working on signs, banners, posters, social media targeted ads, and a live Radio Broadcast through out the weekend.
