When we’re going over the final timeline with our couples, we often get asked about the difference between the two, so we thought it would be helpful to post a description of each and how they’re special 💖

✨First Look - when you and your partner see each other before the ceremony. This is such a special moment for so many reasons that it’s hard to sum it up into a social media post! The main sentiment for this option though is the chance to have the first time seeing each other be a private moment! It’s such an emotional experience seeing each other and a lot of couples enjoy having the moment outside of the ceremony! 💕

✨First Touch - when you and your partner don’t see each other, but still share a moment together, before the ceremony. This still gives you a grand reveal of each other at the ceremony, but also gives you a chance to hold hands or share comforting words with each other before you walk down the aisle! 💕

The most meaningful detail of your wedding day is the love you and your partner share, and the physical representation of that is your wedding rings! Which sparked the idea for us to share some ring tips for your ceremony on this Monday afternoon! 💖

✨Ring Placement: you will be placing your partner’s ring on their finger, so make sure you have their wedding band and they have yours during the ceremony.

✨Ring Holding: who should have the rings? You’ll want to assign the person holding the rings ahead of the ceremony and make sure they know they’ll be in charge of the rings. Most commonly we see couples assign this important duty to one of their attendees of honor or officiant. It makes the ceremony a lot smoother if the people holding the rings are already staged close to the couple.

✨Engagement Rings: since the correct placement of the wedding band is below the engagement ring, you might be wondering what happens to your engagement ring during the ceremony. You actually have a few choices on how to make this switch seamless during the ceremony! You can wear the engagement ring on another finger, switch the rings after the ceremony, store it safely until after the ceremony, or use your engagement ring as your wedding band.
