Happee Birthdae Harry!

To celebrate, we’ve decided to drop tickets for our Hogwarts High Tea at midnight on July 31, just in time for Harry’s birthday! We cannot tell you how excited we are for this event, pulling together all the creativity and love for the HP universe three of the downtown’s small business owners have. When I tell you it’s going to be ridiculously special, I mean it with my whole heart.

A reminder of the minimum you can expect:
A meal’s worth of savories and sweets by to feast on in the Great Hall while sitting at your house table, which you’ll be sorted into when you arrive.
Potions class by where you’ll concoct your own whimsical tea blend.
Herbology by where you’ll create a magical terrarium to take home.
Honeyduke’s Candy Shop where you’ll get to fill a bag with fun candies and sweets.
A costume contest where you can win a basket of HP merch.

We just got to host the Cinco de Mayo themed birthday for the one and only Sarah!

Our own parties often are an opportunity to play, and so this was a baker/florist experiment using a mini wicker chair Sarah found at the thrift store. It made the best cake throne in combination with some incredible floral work.
Can we make cake thrones a thing now?

Happiest of birthdays to Sarah! Helix Hall certainly wouldn’t be what it is without her. Her impeccable taste, hospitality, generosity, and artistry all contribute to the joy of a human she is to be around. 🫶

I did an experiment with the algorithm and it did what I thought it would. Photos with text on them posted at 9pm with a link in the description, not a good idea 😆
But hey, it’s still super cool and happening THIS FRIDAY at the hall. Maybe we can share some life into this post and the algorithm will decide it’s worthy.

TWO new workshops just dropped!

Joanne from .paintedpen has long been a sweet supporter and collaborator with both Gilly’s Lilies and Gable House and you can buy her artwork and cards at 45W. She’s certainly a friend of our downtown fam! Her watercolor designs are whimsical and delightful, and you can learn from her expertise right here at the hall.

We told Kurt we wanted something that combined baking and florals, gave him a few inspo ideas, and he produced this perfect painting in the corner of our space. So thankful for talented folks who can bring a vision to life!
