This , we honor Philadelphia music pioneer, Kenny Gamble. In 2019, Mr. Gamble graced us with his presence at the 5th annual PLAYLIST Retreat. As a longtime mentor of our founder, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Mr. Gamble graciously shared his wisdom and encouragement with the PLAYLIST Family.

Throughout his lifetime, Mr. Gamble has written and produced hundreds of classic records we all know and love. Alongside his musical partner, Leon A. Huff, Kenny Gamble was instrumental in developing the iconic Philadelphia soul sound through their label, Philadelphia International Records.

Mr. Gamble is deeply committed to advancing not only Black musicians but the Black community at large. He is widely known for promoting Black empowerment through his music, and he continues to work tirelessly to educate and instill self-determination in the Black community.

Mr. Gamble, we honor and appreciate you beyond measure.
